All Aflutter Bundle Card Making IdeasAll three cards in this month’s class feature the All Aflutter Bundle, which includes the All Aflutter stamp set and coordinating butterfly punch. I paired it with the Moonlit Flora patterned paper for the class versions and Velvet Meadow patterned paper for my original designs. You’ll also see the Sunset Sparkle Self-Adhesive Sequins sprinkled throughout all three projects. They add just a little extra sparkle without overwhelming the cards. I love seeing the two versions side by side. The Velvet Meadow paper creates a soft, airy look, while Moonlit Flora completely changes the mood with its dramatic dark backgrounds. Easy Friendship Card with a Patterned Paper WindowFor the first card, I used the Rounded Rectangle Punch to create a window in the cardstock layer. The patterned paper sits behind the opening, so you get just a peek at the floral design instead of covering the entire card front. On the Moonlit Flora version, I stamped the butterfly in black and Golden Glow. The little pop of warm yellow really stands out against all that black. I stamped the "friend" sentiment and punched it with the Three Banners Punch, then finished the card with a few Sunset Sparkle Self-Adhesive Sequins. For the original Velvet Meadow version, I kept the background light and stamped the butterfly in Berry Burst. It's the same basic card design, but the two versions certainly don't look the same! This is also a great cardmaking layout to save for other patterned papers. That little window lets you feature a favorite piece of Designer Series Paper without needing very much of it. Vertical Easel Fun Fold Card with a Floating FrontOf course, it wouldn't be my Online Card Class without a fun fold card! This one is a vertical easel card with a floating front. If you joined me for the Diamond Bridge Fun Fold last week , you might notice a similar idea in the way the focal panel appears to float in front of the card. This card uses that idea in a different fold. For the dark version, I combined Peaceful Pine and Soft Sea Foam cardstock with the Moonlit Flora patterned paper. I stamped the butterflies in Peaceful Pine and colored them with Golden Glow Stampin' Blends. But instead of blending the light and dark markers together, I used them as two separate shades. Some sections of each butterfly are colored with the Light Stampin' Blend and others with the Dark. It's an easy way to add definition while keeping the butterflies monochromatic. The original light version uses Velvet Meadow patterned paper. Those butterflies were stamped in Secret Sea and colored the same way using Cloud Cover Stampin' Blends. The "fluttering by to say hi" sentiment is perfect with all those butterflies, and the Sunset Sparkle Self-Adhesive Sequins add the finishing touch. If you enjoy making cards that are a little different but still very doable, this fun fold card is a great one to try. Thinking of You Butterfly CardFor the final card, I really leaned into the floral and nature theme of the patterned papers. The Moonlit Flora version layers two different dark patterns, including that gorgeous floral paper in the center. I stamped the butterflies in Berry Burst and Bubble Bath, which gives them a bright pop of color against the dark background. I used those same butterfly colors on the Velvet Meadow version. This time, the Berry Burst butterflies tie right into the bright pink flowers in the patterned paper. The "thinking of you today" sentiment was cut with the Sweet Words and Labels Dies, and I added more Sunset Sparkle Self-Adhesive Sequins around the butterflies and sentiment. This might be my favorite example of just how much patterned paper can change a card. The layout, sentiment, and butterfly colors are nearly identical, but one card feels light and summery while the other has a much richer, moodier look.
