Angled Gate Fold Card MeasurementsTo make this fun fold card, you’ll need:
Everlasting Thanks Angled Gate Fold CardFor the card I demonstrate in the video, I used Pretty Peacock cardstock with the Everlasting Thanks stamp set and Whispering Woods Designer Series Paper. I love how the two coordinating paper patterns meet at the center and emphasize the angles of the fold. I stamped the floral image in Secret Sea ink and colored it with Stampin’ Blends in Shaded Spruce, Pretty Peacock, Azure Afternoon, Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie, and Smoky Slate. To create the look of white roses, I added just a little Smoky Slate around the edges and then softened the color with the Color Lifter. The floral panel was cut from Basic White cardstock using the largest rounded rectangle from the Nested Essentials Dies. I finished the card with the new White ⅜" Textured Ribbon tied around the belly band. Inside, I added another stamped floral image and a narrow strip of Whispering Woods Designer Series Paper. The Whispering Woods paper is this year's project give back item. $3 from each pack sold will be donated to organizations helping to spread holiday cheer. Holly Jolly Branches Christmas CardThe same angled gate fold works beautifully for Christmas cardmaking. For this version, I paired Peaceful Pine cardstock with the A Stitched Season Designer Series Paper and the Holly Jolly Branches Bundle. The tree sits over a 2" Real Red cardstock circle, which helps it stand out from the two green patterned-paper designs. I added Christmas Epoxy Shapes to decorate the tree and placed the sentiment across the front. For another fun detail, I separated the Peaceful Pine strand from the Multicolor Christmas Baker’s Twine and used it by itself. Pulling apart multicolor twine is an easy way to customize it for your project and it gives you a thinner strand with a little less bulk and visual weight. Inside the card, I stamped a row of trees in Peaceful Pine and added the “sending joy always” sentiment in Real Red. Radiant Sunflowers Angled Gate Fold CardFor my final sample, I used Early Espresso cardstock with the Sunflower Fields Designer Series Paper and the Radiant Sunflowers Bundle. This is such a warm, cheerful combination for a fall card or for sending a little hello at any time of year. I stamped the sunflowers in Early Espresso and colored them with Daffodil Delight, Pecan Pie, and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. The “Hello, friend” sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso on Basic White cardstock and punched out with the Rounded Rectangle Punch. To finish the belly band, I pulled apart a piece of the new Early Espresso Jute and used just one strand to tie a small bow. It adds a rustic texture that works perfectly with the sunflowers and rich brown cardstock. A narrow strip of the plaid Sunflower Fields paper carries the design to the inside of the card. Make This Fun Fold with Your Favorite Patterned PaperOne of my favorite things about this angled gate fold is how easily you can change its style. Choose floral paper for a warm fall card, traditional colors for Christmas, or soft blues and greens for a thoughtful thank-you card. The basic card measurements and construction stay exactly the same. If you make this angled gate fold, I’d love to know what patterned paper and occasion you choose.
