Get the Endless Love Bundle
Sometimes a technique is just too good to use only once – and the Ink Blending Pop technique is definitely one of those. I couldn’t resist making one more card to show how versatile (and downright pretty) this technique can be, especially for Valentine’s Day.

For this card, I used the Endless Love bundle to create a soft-but-bold background of hearts. I blended Pretty in Pink, Strawberry Slush, Berry Burst, and Petunia Pop inks across a panel of Basic White, then I heat embossed four hearts in white. The white embossing helps those hearts pop off the background. Finally, I used the same colors of ink and a Water Painter to add more saturated ink inside the hearts.

To finish the card, I added a bold sentiment on a die-cut label and kept the rest clean and simple so the blended background could do all the heavy lifting. This is such a great reminder that when your background shines, you don’t need much else.

If you’d like to learn exactly how the Ink Blending Pop technique works and see more examples, be sure to check out my original blog post.

This technique is easy to adapt for any season, color combo, or stamp set – and it’s perfect when you want something quick, eye-catching, and fun. Don’t overthink it – blend it!

Do you ever start blending ink and think, Well… we’ll see how this turns out? That’s exactly the energy behind today’s technique – and honestly, that’s what makes it fun.

Ink Blending Pop is a layered color technique where the background stays soft and a little unpredictable, while the stamped images come forward with bold, saturated color. The blended ink fades gently into the background, and then the images step up and steal the show.

If you like techniques that feel creative instead of controlled – where the results are never exactly the same twice – you’re going to love this one. I’m sharing three handmade cards using the Ink Blending Pop technique, plus tips to help you embrace the process and let the color do what it wants to do.
