Birthdays are Better in Plaid

I just can't stop playing with the plaids from the Country Club Designer Series Paper! Today, I paired them with the Broadway Birthday stamp set and the Broadway Lights dies. I pulled the colors from the paper to use for the cardstock and ink: Crushed Curry, Poppy Parade, Garden Green, and Basic Black. The colors and the plaids make great gender-neutral birthday cards.

Hooray in Living Color!
Ink: Crushed Curry, Night of Navy, Garden Green, Poppy Parade
Cardstock:
  • Crushed Curry: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", folded in half cut bottom edge on front with dies, 1 piece - attach Poppy Parade die cut and trim around edges leaving a small border, plus 1/4" strip
  • Poppy Parade: 5 1/2" x 3 3/16", scrap cut with dies, 5 1/2" x 1 1/2" strip adhered to the bottom of the interior of the card.
  • Whisper White: Scraps cut with dies
Country Club DSP: 5 1/2" x 3"
Tips:
  • Stamp the "It's Your Birthday" with Garden Green ink and attach it using Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Attach the strip of Poppy Parade to the inside bottom edge of the card. (Not the underside of the card front.) This way you can see through to the red.

Wish Card
Inks: Garden Green, Crushed Curry, Sahara Sand
Cardstock:
  • Garden Green: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded in half
  • Sahara Sand: 5 1/2" x 1 1/2", scraps
  • Whisper White: Scraps
  • Poppy Parade: cut with Wish die
Country Club DSP: Scraps cut with Layering Circles dies (diameters: 2 15/16" & 1 7/8")

Tips:
  • Use the die that is a strip of diamonds from the Broadway Lights dies to cut diamond shapes from a scrap of Sahara Sand. Use a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to color over them and make them sparkle.
  • Stamp the diamonds with Garden Green. You may want to carefully cut apart the stamp with the two diamonds. You will still be able to put them "back together" on a clear block to stamp them as they were originally, but you can also stamp them separately.
  • Color the "Wish" die with a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to make it sparkle.
  • Swipe your Sahara Sand ink pad around the edges of the card front, the circles, and the strip of Sahara Sand cardstock to make it look distressed.

Black & White Hooray!
Ink: Versamark, Smoky Slate, Tuxedo Black Memento
Cardstock:
  • Basic Black: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded in half, 5 1/4" x 4", 4" x 2 1/2", & scraps
  • Whisper White: 4" x 2 5/16"
Country Club DSP: 4" x 3 1/4"
Tips:
  • Emboss the 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Basic Black cardstock with the retired Polka Dot embossing folder.
  • Heat emboss (directions on heat embossing) the Hooray using Versamark ink, Shimmer White Embossing Powder, and a Heat Tool on a scrap of Basic Black cardstock. Trim carefully with Paper Snips leaving a small black edge.
  • Adhere Rhinestone Basic Jewels above and below the greeting.
