For last night's Mystery Stamping, we quickly created two cards at once! This technique is so simple and makes it so easy to create a pair of cards in minutes. So, on y go! Let's get stamping.
For each of these cards, I made a simple two-layer card and then I made a second slightly stepped-up card. For the second card, I trimmed the card front to 3 3/4" x 5" and layered it on a second piece of colored cardstock before adhering it to the card base. I also stamped the sentiment on a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock, layered it on colored cardstock, and then adhered it to my card base. I added some sequins or linen thread for a little more embellishment.
These cards are so quick and easy that they are addictive! Once you start, you'll want to try all your stamps out to see what it looks like.
For my first card, I stamped a row of smiley faces with one that is definitely not like the others. I trimmed this out and adhered it to a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White cardstock which I then adhered to a Whisper White card base. To add just a punch of color, I stamped "smile" underneath with Gorgeous Grape ink. So quick and easy!
To make the belly band, fold the piece of 1” x 9 ½” Early Espresso around the folded card so that the ends overlap at the front. Adhere the ends. Be careful not to make the band too tight. You want it to stay on, but you also want to be able to easily slide it off the card. This will become the belly band.
Tie a piece of Faux Suede Trim around the belly band. Finally, decorate the belly band with the sentiment and the globe. Slide the belly band onto your tri-fold card for the finishing touch.
Last night for Mystery Stamping on the On Y Go! Stamping Facebook Group, we created this quick and easy fun fold card. Well, actually, we created two cards. Because this fun fold creates two cards! So, on y go! Let's get stamping.
Cut diagonally from one corner of your cardstock to the opposite corner. If your cardstock won't fit diagonally in your paper trimmer, use a ruler and pencil or bone folder to mark the line and cut it with scissors.
You now have two card bases. Fold the flaps in on each card base. Lay your two card bases in front of you. Lay your two pieces of patterned paper in front of you with the designs you want to show facing up. Cut these pieces diagonally as well. Go in the same direction as your card bases. Adhere a triangle of Designer Series Paper to each of the triangular flaps on your card bases. Stamp an image or greeting on your Whisper White or Vanilla cardstock. Mount it on a layer of colored cardstock and adhere it to the front of your card. Be careful to only adhere it to one flap or your card won't open! |
