5 Stocking Stuffer Ideas for Crafters

Are you looking to stuff the stocking for your favorite paper crafter? Here are 5 great products that are perfect for your card making friends. (Or yourself...)

Don't forget, if you'd like to be sure you receive your Stampin' Up! products before Christmas, order by December 9.

So, on y go! Let's check out these fun crafting extras.

1. Watercolor Pencils

Watercolor pencils are magical! Simply stamp an outline image with a waterproof ink pad and color it in with the pencils. There is no need to be perfect with your coloring or to color every little bit. I scribble in my images! Then, using a blender pen or water painter, color over image. (Kind of like the magic water coloring books you had as a kid.) The color will blend together and become more vibrant. It's so much fun. Since there is virtually no mess, it's great for traveling, sitting in front of the tv, or for kids!

2. Water Painters

These Water Painters come in a three-pack with a small, medium, and wide brush tip. Simply fill the barrel with water and use them like a paintbrush. You can dip them in ink from a re-inker or ink pad to color in images or create a wash background. Or, use them to color over the watercolor pencils. Since the water is contained in the pen, there is no need for a glass of rinse water that the cat might tip over!

3. Take Your Pick Tool

This multi-purpose tool comes in handy in so many situations! One end has a putty tip (kind of like poster putty) that you can use to pick up and hold small items. The other end has a flat paddle for doing a little scraping, picking up images from your Cricut, or holding things in place. The paddle tip flips over to a piercing tool. This is the end I use the most! It's great for poking out bits of die-cuts, picking up self-adhesive sequins, or pulling the backs off of Stampin' Dimensionals. You can also get an additional brush end that works fabulously to extract intricate die-cuts.

4. Paper Snips

I know, everyone has scissors already. But, these Paper Snips are super sharp with a pointy end that is great for fussy-cutting in tight spaces. If your favorite crafter doesn't already have a pair, they will love them! If they do have a pair already, they will be excited for a shiny new pair to have as an extra or to replace old ones.

5. Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Marker

Do you love the look of glitter but hate the mess? The Wink of Stella Glitter Brush is the perfect solution! Brush on a fine layer of clear sparkly liquid with this marker. The glitter stays in place and creates a fine sheen on your image. This is another perfect low-mess stocking stuffer for your favorite crafter!

Holiday Shaker Card with Snowflake Wishes

12/4/2020

Watch the snow fall on a pair of simple Christmas trees on this fun holiday shaker card. This card is made with the Snowflake Wishes stamp set, Snowflake Splendor patterned paper, and Tree Angle stamp set from Stampin' Up!
The So Many Snowflakes dies are perfect for making Christmas shaker cards. The set comes with a cut out frame with snowflakes on the edges which makes a beautiful window for this shaker card. Here, I've used the Snowflake Splendor Suite with the Tree Angle stamp set and Stitched Triangles dies to create this special holiday card. So on y go! Let's get stamping.
Christmas shaker card made with the Snowflake Wishes stamp set, Snowflake Splendor patterned paper, and Tree Angle stamp set from Stampin' Up! Watch the snowflakes fall on these simple Christmas trees.

How to Create this Shaker Card

I started by cutting the window from a piece of Pool Party cardstock. Then, I adhered a piece of window sheet to the back of it. I mounted both of these to a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I had cut into a rectangular frame so that the white cardstock did not show on the inside of the window.
Before going further, I prepared the card base by folding a piece of 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Pool Party cardstock in half. I adhered a piece of 5 1/4" x 4" Snowflake Splendor patterned paper to the front of the card base. I stamped two Christmas trees from the Tree Angle stamp set with Pear Pizzazz ink on Soft Sea Foam and Pear Pizzazz cardstock. I adhered these over the Snowflake Splendor patterned paper on the card base.

Next, I turned the matted window over and I carefully lined the outside of the window with foam adhesive strips. I added a nice helping of Snowflake Sequins inside the foam strips. I peeled the back off the adhesive strips and I carefully placed the card base over the top.

To help line up the front of the card because I couldn't see it below the card base, I laid it square on a piece of grid paper. Then, I lined up the card base with the lines of the grid paper.

To finish my holiday shaker card, I stamped the greeting with Pool Party ink on Whisper White cardstock. I trimmed it into a strip and adhered it over the window on the card front.

3 holiday card ideas using the Coming Home and Peace and Joy stamp sets from Stampin' Up! including a gift card holder.
Did you know I offer a monthly online card class and game night? Usually, it's the last Tuesday of the month, but we did November's card class and game night last night. This month, I shared how to make 3 cards using the Coming Home and Peace & Joy stamp sets from Stampin' Up! including a gift card holder idea. Participants will receive their card kits in the mail in a few days and a few lucky winners will get prizes in their kits. Besides seeing great cards like these, we have a lot of fun playing games and chatting. I hope you'll join us for the next Card Class & Game Night on Dec. 29.

Coming Home and Peace & Joy Cards

My first card use the fun VW bug from the Coming Home stamp set that is headed home with a Christmas tree. This piece of Trimming the Town patterned paper is Old Olive and Pool Party. These aren't colors that I wouldn't normally put together, but I love them on this paper and continued them with the car and tree. There is something fresh about these colors with the white.

I love all these couples and families on the Trimming the Town patterned paper. Here, I've cut a circle of this paper with the Layering Circle dies and mounted it on a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock cut with the Stitched Shapes dies. I added a die-cut greeting cut with the Joy dies.

My last card is a fun fold gift card holder. This gift card holder is easy to make and a fun way to give someone a gift card or maybe a little cash. I used Stampin' Seal + on the patterned paper holding the gift card to ensure that the paper is strongly secured.
