Sometimes you want a card that feels a little extra… but you don’t want to overthink it or spend all day figuring it out.

This week’s fun fold card is exactly that kind of project.

It creates this really cool box effect on the front, but it still folds flat so you can pop it in a regular envelope. And the best part? Once you understand the basic structure, you can use anything with it – stamps, dies, patterned paper… whatever you’re excited to play with.

I had a handful of new products sitting on my desk, and this was the perfect excuse to actually use them instead of just admiring them.

If you want to see exactly how this card comes together (and how it folds), make sure to watch the video below and grab the free project sheet so you can follow along.

Cute & Playful Birthday Card

This card is just pure happy.

I used the Thoughtful Octopus Stamp Set, and it really does all the work for you. The images are bold and solid, so there’s no coloring involved, and all the little extras you can add – the hat, the balloon, the cupcakes – just make it feel fun without adding effort.
I stamped the octopus in Bubble Bath, with the balloon and hat in Lost Lagoon, and pulled it together with Misty Moonlight for the sentiment and details. The color combo is simple, but it really pops against the white.

For the background, I used the Everyday Essentials Designer Series Paper. This is one of those go-to papers that works with everything, and it lets the stamped image stay the focus.

Silly Old Bear Sweet Cards

These two cards use the same supplies, but they feel completely different just by switching the image and sentiment.

I used the Silly Old Bear Suite, which includes the Sweet Old Friends Bundle and the Sweet Words and Labels Bundle.

And here’s the fun part – I didn’t stamp the main images at all.

Both of these focal images were die cut straight from the patterned paper, which makes these cards come together really quickly. It’s one of those little shortcuts that still looks like you did something impressive.

The first card with Pooh holding the balloon uses soft Hydrangea Hue with warm Golden Glow accents and that sweet sentiment: “It never hurts to keep looking up.”

The second card leans into the cozy side with Pecan Pie tones and Pooh reaching for his honey, paired with “You deserve a little treat.”

Same layout, same fold, same supplies – two completely different feels.

Bright & Summery Hello Card

This one is such a fun shift in style.

I used the Splash & Relax Bundle, which we’ll be using for the June Online Card Class (and yes – you can earn that class free with a $100 order this month).
The base colors are Misty Moonlight and Lost Lagoon, but the real star here is the Melon Mambo. Those bright pops in the sunglasses and flip flops just pull your eye across the whole card.

I stamped the inner tube in Pool Party and Lost Lagoon, and then layered in die cuts for the lotion bottle, sunglasses (with silver foil lenses for a little shine), and flip flops using two-tone cardstock.

It’s bright, it’s summery, and it’s one of those cards that just makes you smile.

Simple & Elegant Thank You Card

This one is a completely different vibe – and a good reminder that this fold works just as well for simple designs.
I used the Fern & Flora Bundle with the Moonlit Flora Designer Series Paper in Mossy Meadow and Old Olive.
The front is kept really clean with the “thankful for you” sentiment stamped on white. I added a couple of butterflies and those subtle background lines in Golden Glow – they’re a small detail, but they make a big difference.
To finish it off, I added a few green dew drop embellishments for just a little bit of texture and shine.
Simple, soft, and really easy to recreate.

Final Thoughts – A Fun Fold You’ll Actually Use

This is one of those fun fold cards that looks interesting but is still very doable – and that’s exactly what we want.

Once you’ve made one, you can swap out the stamps, papers, and colors and keep going without having to figure out a new layout every time.

If you want the measurements and step-by-step instructions, make sure to grab the free project sheet above.
