I shared how to use these packs to make a card during this week's Thursday night live. If you missed it, you can catch the replay below along with the supply list and lots more sample photos. So, on y go! Let's get stamping.

Video Tutorial for These Quick Handmade Cards

Here's the video tutorial where I shared lots of tips for using these ephemera packs to create easy handmade cards.

Ahoy! An Easy Handmade Card

There are multiple choices in the Mix & Match Ephemera line:
  • Saying Something Ephemera Pack
  • Something for Everything Ephemera Pack
  • Fully Flowering Ephemera Pack
  • Labels & Layers Ephemera Pack

Plus, there are two different packs of printed cards and envelopes that you can add them to: the Sunny Springs Cards & Envelopes and the Calming Creek Cards & Envelopes.

Everything works with everything else in the line!

Choose Your Elements and Start Mixing

For my cards, I used the Sunny Springs Cards & Envelopes, the Saying Something Ephemera Pack, the Something for Everything Ephemera Pack, and the Labels and Layers Ephemera Pack.

I started by choosing an element from the Something for Everything Ephemera Pack and then found other elements that went well with it. For this birthday card, I started with the balloons.

Add Labels for a Base

I love the printed cards, but sometimes that can feel a little busy. So, I like to use a label, or a few labels, as a base for my ephemera elements.

This card, I used the big label in the back from the Labels & Layers pack. Then, I layered the rainbow on it and added other smaller elements.

Some of the words in the Saying Something pack are white, like the "friend" I used on this card. So, I colored it with a Stampin' Blend to match the rainbow.

Use Multiple Sentiments

Yup, on this card, I repeated myself. I love how the script hello looks with the bold uppercase hello. I popped them both on a label layered on other labels.

All of the card bases have matching envelopes. I chose to put the envelope with their matching card, but you could mix them up too for a different look!

Group and Overlap Elements

Try grouping and overlapping elements to create a focal point. If the pieces aren't overlapped, it may look a little disjointed. Overlapping them helps create a collaged look.

You can see that some of the ephemera pieces have a white border and some of them, like on this thank you card, don't. Usually, I keep the bordered ones with other bordered ones and the non-bordered ones together. But you can mix them like I did in the Friend card above.

Use Your Own Cardstock Base

While the card bases are great for super easy cards without needing a paper trimmer or scissors, you can also use the ephemera packs with regular cardstock bases.

For this card, I used a piece of Copper Clay for the card base. I also embossed a piece of Copper Clay with the Timber 3D embossing folder and then layered it on a piece of Basic White cardstock.

I love how the different elements came together on this card front!
