I have another simple card sketch for you this week. This one uses strips of colored cardstock and versamark ink to create a simple background for a sentiment. I have lots of samples for you below, so be sure to read through to the end. Plus, I have a quick-reference guide that you can download and print to save this card sketch for future inspiration for your card making.
This week's Stamp with Me Tuesday was Mystery Stamping and the mystery cards were based on this sketch. It works with any type of stamp and only uses a couple of ink pads which makes it perfect for simple stamping and beginning stampers. But, the results are so beautiful that even the most advanced card maker will want to try it!
If you missed the Mystery Stamping live, you can still watch the replay and play along.
Are you scared of watercoloring? Does it look like it's too difficult and only for "real" artists? With the right tools, watercoloring is much easier than it seems, especially with rubber stamps!
I used the new Happiness Abounds stamp set and the Perfectly Penciled patterned paper from Stampin' Up!® to create some easy watercolored cards.
If you want to see exactly how I did the watercoloring, be sure to watch the replay of the YouTube live that I did. I show you step by step how I colored the flowers for both of these handmade cards.
These new stamps and patterned paper are from the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. If you don't have one yet, be sure to pop over to my catalog page and request one. It's so gorgeous and filled with fabulous ideas!
I've got cutting dimensions and supply lists for you below, so, on y go! Let's get stamping.
I love the Let's Set Sail stamp set and coordinating Sailboat Builder punch! It is great for making masculine cards or cards for anyone. For the April card class and game night, I paired it with the Waves Designer Series Paper. Be sure to grab this fabulous patterned paper before it's gone! It's perfect for so many water themed cards and it will be discontinued in May.
This stamp set also works great for baby cards. You can see an example of a sweet baby card here.
If you missed this month's Card Class & Game Night, you can watch the replay and purchase the written tutorial. Then, make sure to register for the May Card Class & Game Night happening on May 24 at 8pm Eastern in the On Y Go! Stamping Facebook group and on YouTube. We'll be using the Your Biggest Fan stamp set to make some more cards for guys including a father's day card.
Do you need to make some masculine cards that aren't nature, tools, or cars? The For the Record stamp set from Stampin' Up! is great for creating handmade cards for guys who aren't into that other "guy stuff." It's especially great if you have a music lover to create for.
These card ideas are perfect for anyone - men or women! You could easily mask out the heart in the center of the card if you wanted. These three card layouts use the same color combination of Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, and Pool Party. I love the tone-on-tone effect!
I shared how to make one of these cards during my regular Thursday Night Live event this week. If you missed it, be sure to watch the replay for all of the little tips that I shared.
I've canceled next week's Thursday Night Live event, but I hope you'll join me in 2 weeks on April 28, when I'll be sharing how to make some more awesome handmade cards.
