If you’re looking for cardmaking ideas that feel elegant, thoughtful, and totally doable, you’re going to love this month’s Online Card Class. December’s class features the Gallery Blooms bundle from Stampin’ Up!®, and we’re creating three handmade cards you can use all year - including an easy fun fold card that doubles as a gift card holder.

This class is a perfect mix of quick, easy, and wow. Beautiful florals, soft color palettes, and a fun fold that looks impressive but doesn’t require complicated steps or extra tools. If you enjoy rubber stamping, paper crafting, and handmade cards that feel special without being fussy - you’re in the right place.

Bright floral handmade card using the Gallery Blooms stamp set with Cloud Cover and Lost Lagoon cardstock. Colored floral images with Stampin’ Blends and a quick sentiment added using mix and match ephemera.

Happy Day Floral Card with Gallery Blooms

This cheerful floral card features a fresh color combination of Cloud Cover and Lost Lagoon with pops of Calypso Coral and Peach Pie. Since the Gallery Blooms stamp set doesn’t include sentiments, I paired it with the Greetings For All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack - one of my favorite shortcuts for adding quick, polished sentiments.

Even though this ephemera pack is currently on backorder, it’s absolutely worth grabbing when it comes back in stock. (Pro tip: you can log in to the Stampin’ Up!® website, find the product, and request to be notified when it’s available again.)

For the focal point, I layered a small die-cut rectangle in Cloud Cover with Lost Lagoon leaves, then stamped the floral image in Secret Sea and colored it with Stampin’ Blends. I even used Blends to customize the sentiment so it coordinates perfectly with the card.
This is a great example of mixing stamped images with ephemera for a card that looks detailed but comes together quickly.

Easy Fun Fold Gift Card Holder

This fun fold card is one of those designs you’ll come back to again and again. It’s simple to make, works beautifully with patterned paper, and gives you the option to include a gift card holder — or skip it if you want more space to write a message.
For this card, I used Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper and the Nested Essentials dies to create a decorative edge. The trick is placing part of the die on the paper and part of it off - only the area under the die gets cut, which creates a soft, curved edge without trimming the whole piece.

The patterned paper is adhered to the inside of the card, leaving the center open so you can slip in a gift card. If you prefer, you can adhere the paper to the back of the card instead for more writing room.

The front flap tucks neatly under a stamped and die-cut image, holding the card closed without magnets or extra steps. Easy, practical, and a total crowd-pleaser.

Elegant sympathy card using Gallery Blooms and Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!®️ Queen anne’s lace floral image stamped and layered for a soft, thoughtful handmade card.

Elegant Sympathy Card with Beautiful Gallery Paper

This sympathy card is all about subtle texture and thoughtful details. I started with a very soft piece of patterned paper layered onto the card front, then added a panel of Early Espresso cardstock stamped along the edges with the queen anne’s lace image. To give it a gently distressed look, I brushed the edges with my Early Espresso ink pad - a simple technique that adds so much depth without overpowering the design.

The focal point features one of the stunning scenic designs from the Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper. These images are inspired by oil-painted artwork and bring an instant sense of calm and elegance to your handmade cards.

I stamped the queen anne’s lace image again on Basic Beige, die-cut it, and layered it over the patterned paper. The sentiment is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals to finish the card.

This is a beautiful layout for sympathy cards or any occasion where you want the design to feel quiet, meaningful, and heartfelt.
