Easy Diamond Bridge Fun Fold Card Tutorial + 5 Card Ideas

If you're looking for a fun fold that's a little different but still easy to make, you're going to love this week's project!

Today I'm sharing my brand-new Diamond Bridge Fun Fold, a unique card design that creates beautiful dimension with a floating front panel. The center folds form a diamond shape behind the focal panel, while the front panel is attached only in the center, allowing it to pop forward and appear to float in front of the card.

It's a fun surprise for the recipient, folds flat for mailing, and is a wonderful way to show off your favorite Stampin' Up!® Designer Series Papers.

Since the front panel floats in front of the card instead of opening like a traditional greeting card, you'll simply write your personal message on the back.

How to Make a Diamond Bridge Fun Fold Card

One of my favorite things about the Diamond Bridge Fun Fold is that it looks much more complicated than it actually is. With just a few pieces of cardstock and Designer Series Paper, you'll create a card with plenty of dimension that's still easy to assemble.

The folded center panels create the diamond shape hidden behind the card, while the floating front panel pops forward to create depth and interest. It's a great design for birthdays, friendship cards, thank you cards, encouragement cards, and just about any occasion.

Diamond Bridge Fun Fold Measurements

Cardstock

• 5-1/2" x 4-1/4"
• 5" x 2-3/4"
• 1-3/4" x 3"
• (2) 2-1/2" x 1"

Basic White or Very Vanilla Cardstock

• 2-7/8" x 1-5/8"
• (2) 4" x 2-1/2"

Patterned Paper

• 5-3/8" x 4-1/8"
• (2) 1-7/8" x 2-5/8"

Additional Supplies

• Paper trimmer with scoring blade
• Adhesive
• Stamps and ink to finish your card

Birthday Card with the Framed Violets Bundle

For the first sample, I paired the Framed Violets bundle with the beautiful Violet Dreams Designer Series Paper. The soft Hydrangea Hue striped paper creates a lovely backdrop, while the coordinating floral pattern draws your eye to the center of the card.

The focal image is stamped in Secret Sea and colored with Highland Heather and Peaceful Pine Stampin' Blends. Since Stampin' Up!® doesn't offer Gorgeous Grape Blends, Highland Heather makes a wonderful substitute while still coordinating beautifully with the Gorgeous Grape cardstock. The floating front panel lets the violet take center stage while adding lots of dimension to this elegant birthday card.

Butterfly Friendship Card with the Extraordinary Life Bundle

This cheerful friendship card features the Extraordinary Life bundle and the Beautiful Ordinary Life Designer Series Paper. Instead of using cardstock for the floating front panel, I chose another piece of patterned paper to create a completely different look.

One of my favorite details is the black-and-white leaf pattern in the center. I added Pool Party Stampin' Blend to the leaves for a quick pop of color that ties everything together perfectly. The stamped butterflies, banner, and Lemon Lolly Array of Dots finish the card with a bright, happy feel.

Sweet Highland Cow Friendship Card

How adorable is this Highland cow?

This friendship card uses the Wild Bunch* stamp set along with the 2026–2028 In Color Gingham and 2026–2028 In Color Painted Patterns Designer Series Papers. The warm Golden Glow color palette gives the entire project a cozy feel.

After coloring and fussy cutting the cow, I popped it onto the floating front panel where it becomes the star of the card. This sample is a great reminder that the Diamond Bridge Fun Fold works beautifully with larger focal images, too.

Modern Card with the Painted Collage Suite

If you enjoy clean, artistic designs, this sample is for you!

This card features the upcoming Painted Collage Suite, including the Notes of Collage stamp set and coordinating Painted Collage Designer Series Paper, both arriving in September.

Rather than using a large focal image, I stamped an abstract collage directly onto the floating front panel before adding the sentiment, "We Make a Great Team." A few Pearls of Beauty pearls complete the design with just the right amount of texture and shine. It's a wonderful example of how versatile this fun fold can be.

Simply Leaves Hello Card

The final sample showcases the Simply Leaves bundle paired with a gorgeous new sunflower-themed Designer Series Paper that will be available in September.

The bold floral print makes a stunning background, while the coordinating plaid paper adds contrast to the center panels. I stamped the leaf in Old Olive and added the veins with Mossy Meadow for extra detail before layering it onto the floating front panel.

The rich fall colors and beautiful papers make this one of my favorite versions of the Diamond Bridge Fun Fold.
