Easy Embossing Technique for Christmas

I absolutely love how easy it is to do this technique! I've colored on patterned paper before, but I never thought to emboss on it! So that's what we're doing. By embossing with clear embossing powder, it creates an additional shiny, raised pattern over the pattern already on the paper, but it doesn't change the color scheme. This technique gives patterned paper something super extra.

How to do the Embossed Patterns Technique

Start with a piece of patterned paper. For these cards, I used the Snowy Scenes patterned paper from Stampin' Up!®️

Stamp a large background stamp or repeatedly stamp an image over the entire piece of patterned paper using embossing ink. I used the Leaf Collection stamp set for the background here.

Dump on some clear embossing powder and tap off the extra. Then, heat the patterned paper until the embossing powder melts. It's as quick and easy as that!

Beautiful Valentine's Day Card

This card is very similar to the one above - I used the same stamps including the NEW Hugs for Love stamp set and punch. (These awesome stamps will be coming in January!) But then I stepped it up a notched!

I grabbed my Petal Pink ink pad and a blending brush. Then, I added ink over the patterned paper to do an emboss resist. This makes the leaf pattern stand out more and shows the original plaid underneath. So cool!
