Introducing the Stampin' Hot Foil System: Everything You Need to Know + 4 Beautiful Card Ideas

7/8/2026

Have you ever wished you could add gorgeous metallic details to your handmade cards without the fuss of heat embossing? The brand-new Stampin' Hot Foil System makes it easy to create elegant foiled sentiments, detailed images, and stunning backgrounds that look professionally printed.

To celebrate the launch, I did a live video where I walk you through everything you need to know to get started with the new system. I shoed how the Stampin' Hot Foil System works step-by-step, shared tips for getting the best results, and created a beautiful card while also showing four finished samples that highlight the amazing possibilities of hot foiling. Missed the live? You can watch the replay right here, then keep reading for more details and close-up photos of all four projects.

What Is the Stampin' Hot Foil System?

The Stampin' Hot Foil System uses heat and pressure to transfer metallic foil onto cardstock, creating crisp, shiny designs with a beautiful reflective finish.

Unlike heat embossing, hot foiling produces a smooth metallic image that catches the light and instantly adds elegance to your handmade cards. Whether you're creating delicate sentiments, detailed images, decorative backgrounds, or bold greetings, hot foiling gives your projects an entirely new look.

One of my favorite things about this new product line is that many of the coordinating collections include stamps, dies, and decorative masks in addition to the hot foil dies. Even if you're not ready to purchase the machine right away, many of these bundles are wonderful additions to your craft room.

How to Use the Stampin' Hot Foil System

The Stampin' Hot Foil System is surprisingly easy to use.
  1. Plug in the machine and wait for the first beep. (The red light flashes while it heats.)
  2. Place your hot foil die onto the heated platform, then press the timer button.
  3. When it beeps again, build your sandwich:
    • Foil (shiny side down)
    • Cardstock
    • Shim
    • Spacer
  4. Slowly roll the sandwich through your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.

That's it! In just a few moments you'll have beautifully foiled images and sentiments ready to use on your cards.

Special Launch Offers

The Stampin' Hot Foil System and the coordinating hot foil bundles will be available beginning Friday, July 10.

When you order your Stampin' Hot Foil System through me, you'll receive:
  • A FREE exclusive Hot Foil Tutorial Bundle featuring beautiful projects from talented demonstrators, including one of my cards.
  • FREE access to Stampin' Up!'s Metallic Magic Craft Class when you purchase your Stampin' Hot Foil System before December 31, 2026.

It's a wonderful way to jump right in with plenty of inspiration!

Sweetly Sentimental Bundle with Elegant Gold Foil

The first card is the one I created during the video demonstration.

The Sweetly Sentimental Bundle features a gorgeous two-step floral stamp set with a large floral spray that creates soft, realistic flowers with very little effort. Even if you don't plan to purchase the Stampin' Hot Foil System right away, this stamp set is absolutely beautiful on its own.

The coordinating hot foil dies are incredibly clever. They foil all eleven sentiments at one time, and the coordinating cutting die cuts them all out in a single pass. If you like having lots of greetings ready to use, you'll love this feature!

To finish the design, I added subtle sparkle with the Swiss Dots Hot Foil Die using gold foil. The delicate dots complement the floral image perfectly without taking attention away from it.

Butterfly Flight Bundle with Layered Gold Foiling

This card is my contribution to the exclusive tutorial bundle you'll receive when you purchase the Stampin' Hot Foil System through me. If you aren't ready for the machine just yet, the tutorial bundle will also be available in my Tutorial Store beginning July 18.

The Butterfly Flight Bundle includes hot foil dies, coordinating cutting dies, and decorative masks, giving you several different ways to use the bundle.

For this card, I foiled the butterflies with gold foil before adding color using the coordinating decorative masks. It's a quick way to achieve beautiful shading while still letting the metallic foiling shine.

I also layered the Botanical Glow Hot Foil Dies and the Swiss Dots Hot Foil Die into the background to create even more dimension and sparkle.

Even without the hot foil system, the coordinating masks and dies make this an incredibly versatile bundle.

Botanical Glow Bundle with Bold Foiled Greetings

The third card highlights one of my favorite new sentiment collections - the Classic Greetings Hot Foil Dies.

I love how large and bold these greetings are! The foiled "Celebrate!" immediately becomes the focal point of the card.

For this sample, I paired the greeting with the Botanical Glow Bundle, using pink foil on Gray Granite cardstock for a modern, elegant color combination.

One thing that's important to know about this bundle is that the coordinating stamp and hot foil die aren't designed to line up perfectly. Instead, they're intended to coordinate while remaining slightly offset, creating a layered botanical look that feels loose and artistic.
Soft Sea Foam stamped leaves complete the background while allowing the foiled branches and greeting to remain the stars of the card.
Celebrate with this elegant handmade card featuring the Botanical Glow Bundle and Classic Greetings Hot Foil Dies from Stampin' Up!®. Pink hot foil on Gray Granite cardstock creates a bold metallic greeting while Soft Sea Foam botanical stamping adds a soft layered background. Pretty floral handmade card featuring the Begonia Belle Stamp Set, Swiss Dots Hot Foil Dies, Botanical Glow Hot Foil Dies, and Valley in Bloom Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!®. Silver hot foil adds elegant shine to this card making design, showing how beautifully hot foiling pairs with patterned paper and stamped images. Begonia Belle with Silver Foil

My final sample combines the Begonia Belle Stamp Set with the Swiss Dots and Botanical Glow Hot Foil Dies.

As an added bonus, the Begonia Belle Stamp Set is Stampin' Up!'s July Product of the Month. During July, you can add it to your order for just $5 with a qualifying $75 purchase, making it an easy way to combine traditional stamping with your new hot foil projects.

This card also uses the card sketch I shared earlier this week, showing how beautifully hot foiling works alongside simple layouts and patterned paper.

For this project I switched to silver foil, giving the design a completely different feel than the gold and pink foil used on the previous cards. I also incorporated Valley in Bloom Designer Series Paper, which is one of my favorite surfaces for hot foiling.

I've found that hot foiling produces the cleanest results on smooth surfaces like:
  • Basic White Cardstock
  • Two-Tone Cardstock
  • Designer Series Paper
The smoother finish allows the foil to transfer beautifully.

Ready to Add Some Shine to Your Cards?

The new Stampin' Hot Foil System is one of the most exciting additions Stampin' Up! has released in a long time. It's easy to learn, produces beautiful professional-looking results, and coordinates with an entire collection of new stamps, dies, decorative masks, and hot foil dies.

Whether you're creating elegant sentiments, intricate butterflies, botanical backgrounds, or subtle metallic accents, you'll quickly discover just how much fun hot foiling can be.

Beginning Friday, July 10, you can order the Stampin' Hot Foil System through me and receive my exclusive Hot Foil Tutorial Bundle. Don't forget - when you purchase your system before December 31, 2026, you'll also receive free access to Stampin' Up!'s Metallic Magic Craft Class.

I can't wait to see what you create with it!
