If you love fun fold cards that look impressive but are actually easy to make, you are going to love this one. Today’s project is a locking triple z-fold card – and yes, it really does fold flat for mailing while still delivering a big wow when it opens.

This is one of those cardmaking designs that feels fancy without being fussy. Once you understand the basic structure, you can dress it up for weddings, birthdays, or any occasion just by swapping out your stamps and patterned paper.

Locking Z-Fold Wedding Card

This elegant wedding card uses one of the stamp sets and coordinating dies from the Virtual Card Retreat – the Forever Florals bundle. I paired it with the Lovely & Beautiful Specialty Designer Series Paper, which has a soft watercolor look with subtle gold foil details that feel perfect for a wedding or anniversary card.

The Peach Pie card base adds warmth without overpowering the florals, while the greenery die-cuts in Old Olive bring everything together. I love how the layered panels of this fun fold let that gorgeous paper shine on every fold – it’s one of those cards that feels like a keepsake.

This design is a great reminder that fun fold cards don’t have to be complicated to feel special. The structure does the heavy lifting, and the paper takes care of the wow factor.

Birthday Card with Drinks

This birthday card features the January Product of the Month – the Fabulous Sayings stamp set, and it is such a fun, celebratory choice for this fold. I paired it with the Celebratory Sips Designer Series Paper and fussy-cut two of the drink images straight from the paper to create the focal point.

The drinks are layered onto Berry Burst cardstock cut with the Nested Essentials dies, giving the front of the card a strong focal panel that also acts as the locking element. A little Bubble Bath ribbon softens the look, and the sentiment is stamped in Berry Burst and Blackberry Bliss for extra contrast.

Important heads-up – the Celebratory Sips paper coordinates with the Cheers & Sips bundle, which is currently part of the Last Chance sale. Because the stamps and dies are discounted separately, this is actually the best time to grab them before they’re gone for good.

Soft Birthday Florals Fun Fold

For the third card, I used the Lovely Arrangements bundle with the Lovely Blossoms Designer Series Paper for a softer, more classic birthday card. The flowers are stamped in Secret Sea, then lightly outlined with a Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend.

Before die-cutting, I went back over the Petal Pink with the Color Lifter to gently smudge the color outward. This subtle step really helps the white flowers pop against the Petal Pink background of the patterned paper – it’s a simple rubber stamping technique that makes a big difference.

To finish the card, I added Secret Sea die-cut leaves, Secret Sea Open Weave Ribbon, and a few Moody Palette Dots. This version proves that the same fun fold can feel totally different just by changing the color palette and embellishments.
