Christmas cards don't have to be traditional to feel festive!

For tonight's Sneak Peek, I'm sharing the brand-new Festive Cheer Bundle from the July Online Exclusives collection. Instead of reaching for classic reds and greens, I challenged myself to use bright, cheerful colors like Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo, Lemon Lime Twist, and Pretty Peacock.

The result? Four fun handmade cards that prove Christmas crafting can be colorful, modern, and full of personality. Several of today's cards also feature the Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper, a gorgeous black and white paper pack that's perfect for customizing with your favorite ink colors.

If you missed the live video, be sure to watch the replay below, then scroll down to see all four card ideas up close!

Bright Ornament Christmas Card with the Festive Cheer Bundle

The first card is the one I demonstrated during tonight's video, and it shows that you don't need patterned paper to create an eye-catching Christmas card.

I stamped the playful "fa la la la la" sentiment across the bottom of the card in Pretty Peacock, then added Melon Mambo and Lemon Lime Twist stars to create a festive border. Three colorful ornaments were stamped, die cut with the coordinating dies, and suspended with gray baker's twine so they appear to hang right over the sentiment. The clean white background keeps all the attention on the bright ornaments, making this a fun, modern take on a Christmas card.

Open the card and you'll find the coordinating sentiment, "Holly Jolly Greetings," to finish the design.

Black & White Christmas Card with Customized Patterned Paper

One of my favorite features of the Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper is that you can completely change its look with a blending brush.

For this card, I started with the black and white polka dot pattern and blended Melon Mambo ink over it, instantly transforming the white dots into bright pink. The background is layered over a Coastal Cabana panel covered with die-cut pine boughs, adding lots of subtle texture without distracting from the focal point.

The large die-cut NOEL provides a bold focal point, while the ornament string stamp found a completely different purpose as decorative lines framing the "holly jolly greetings" sentiment. It's a simple detail that gives the card a finished look and shows how versatile even small stamps can be.

Stretch Your Supplies with Die-Cut Negatives

Don't throw away those leftover die-cut pieces!

The focal panel on this card is actually the negative left behind after die-cutting the word NOEL for the previous card. Instead of letting it become scrap, I backed the opening with another piece of Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper after blending Lemon Lime Twist ink over the leafy pattern. The result is a completely different look while making the most of every piece of cardstock.

For the background, I used the new Swirls of Magic Embossing Folder. Although it's part of an upcoming Halloween collection, the subtle swirls work beautifully for so many different occasions—including Christmas! A little black twine and a bright "Deck the Halls" sentiment complete this bold and graphic design.

Modern Christmas Card with Black & White Patterned Paper

For the final card, I returned to the black and white patterned paper, pairing both the polka dots and striped patterns to create a simple layered background.

Three brightly colored ornaments hang over the patterned paper strips, drawing your eye immediately to the focal point. The white space at the top gives the card plenty of room to breathe while allowing the "Deck the Halls" sentiment to stand out.

Using bold colors like Melon Mambo, Pretty Peacock, Coastal Cabana, and Lemon Lime Twist against crisp black and white creates a fresh, modern Christmas card that's fun to make and sure to stand out in someone's mailbox.

Try a Different Color Palette for Your Christmas Cards

I hope tonight's projects inspire you to look beyond traditional Christmas colors and experiment with combinations you might not normally reach for. Sometimes simply changing the colors - or adding ink to black and white patterned paper - is enough to give your handmade cards a completely different personality.

The Festive Cheer Bundle will be available beginning July 1 as part of the new Online Exclusives collection, and I can't wait to see what you create with it!
