Simply Leaves Card Ideas – August Online Card Class

Sometimes a stamp set just makes you want to play, and the Simply Leaves Bundle from Stampin' Up!® is definitely one of those for me! The leaves are big and bold with lots of fun patterns, and the coordinating punch cuts out the larger leaf, making it easy to add layers and dimension to your handmade cards.

For the August Online Card Class, I paired the Simply Leaves Bundle with the 2026–2028 In Color Gingham Gallery Designer Series Paper. I love a good gingham, and the soft patterns work so well with these bold leaf images.

And, as you'll see with the first card, leaves don't necessarily have to stay leaves!

Turn Leaves into a Flower

For the first card, I decided the leaves didn't need to be leaves at all! Instead, I stamped them in Daffodil Delight and Golden Glow and arranged them to create a big, bold flower.

The center was cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies, and then I used a Journaling Pen to draw around the flower petals and center. Those hand-drawn lines add a little extra definition and give the whole flower a fun, doodled look.

I love finding unexpected ways to use my rubber stamps, and turning a leaf into a flower gives you another completely different look from the Simply Leaves stamp set.

Simply Leaves Easel Fun Fold Card

Of course, an Online Card Class wouldn't be complete without a fun fold card!

This one is a different take on an easel card. The card front is cut so that the bottom section folds downward, while a vertical panel on the front becomes the easel when the card is opened. Since the inside is part of the display, there's space on the back of the card for your handwritten message.

I used Barely Blush for the card base with Crisp Cantaloupe and Golden Glow for the stamped leaves. I also changed up the In Color Gingham Gallery Designer Series Paper by stamping directly on the patterned paper. This is such an easy way to customize patterned paper and make it work even harder in your cardmaking.

The panel inside the easel is embossed with the Textured Tree Ring 3D Embossing Folder for another layer of texture.

This fun fold stands beautifully for display, which makes it a great choice when you want the recipient to be able to leave your handmade card out and enjoy it.

A Quick Hello Card with Lots of Texture

The final card is a simpler card in Timid Tiger and Crisp Cantaloupe, but there are still lots of little details.

I stamped "A little something to say hello" and added it to a label cut with the Nested Essentials Dies. The stamped and punched leaves are tucked behind the greeting along with Linen Thread.

For the background, I used the leaf design from the Seasonal Cheer Mini Embossing Folder set. This set includes three mini embossing folders with candy cane, bat, and leaf designs. They're sized to work with the Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, but you can use them in the full-size machine too.

I love that the leaf folder works beyond fall cards. Paired with these bright In Colors, it adds texture without making the card feel overly autumnal.
