Sometimes a card sketch just clicks - and this week’s card sketch is one of those! It’s simple, flexible, and (surprise!) it’s also a super-easy fun fold. Whether you need a thank you, birthday, or holiday card, this sketch has you covered.

If you’ve ever thought fun folds look complicated, this one’s your new BFF. The measurements are clean, the fold is minimal, and the result is simple elegance! It’s a great way to use up your favorite Designer Series Paper - especially the new Brushed With Beauty DSP from Stampin’ Up!®’s latest Online Exclusives.

Keep scrolling for four completely different cards made from this same sketch, a free downloadable project sheet, and a peek at the Creativity Made Simple Card Template Book that will make your creative life so much easier.

Template for a Simple Handmade Card

  • Cardstock: 7 ½" x 5 ½", scored at 3 ¼"
  • Cardstock: 3 ¼" x 5 ½"
  • Coordinating cardstock: ¾" x 5 ½"
  • Patterned Paper: 1" x 5 ½"
  • Stamped images or die-cuts for focal point
  • Small sentiment
You’ll love how the scored panel opens slightly off-center to show a peek of your inside layer - just enough to make it feel fancy without the fuss.

“I Love You” with the Brushed With Beauty Suite

The star of the show: Brushed With Beauty Designer Series Paper paired with the Petals of Beauty and Words of Beuaty stamp sets and dies. The painted texture of this DSP practically does the work for you!

I stamped the flowers in Calypso Coral and Petal Pink, die-cut two sets of leaves, and layered everything over Crumb Cake embossed with the Beautiful Pattern embossing folder. A few Pearls of Beauty add just the right shimmer.

Turn this easy fun fold card sketch into a handmade Christmas card! Featuring the Keeping Traditions stamp set and Elegant Pine Snowflakes DSP from Stampin’ Up!®

Holly Jolly Christmas Card

This festive version of the sketch features the Elegant Pine Snowflakes DSP and Keeping Traditions stamp set. The color combo - Secret Sea, Old Olive, and Cherry Cobbler - feels elegant and classic.

I fussy-cut the postage-stamp image, then used a ⅛" punch around the edge to mimic perforation. The holly and berries were stamped separately, layered, and topped with Shimmer Star Foam Stickers for sparkle.

JOY Modern Christmas Card

Sometimes less really is more. I used the Modern Christmas DSP for a sleek black-and-gold design and heat-embossed “JOY” in gold on black cardstock. The ornaments are fussy-cut right from the patterned paper and finished with Black, White & Gold Baker’s Twine.

Try a modern twist on Christmas cardmaking with black, white, and gold! Use the Modern Christmas DSP from Stampin’ Up!® to create an elegant handmade holiday card with this easy fun fold sketch.
Create a heartfelt handmade sympathy card with the Gallery Blooms bundle and Beautiful Gallery DSP from Stampin’ Up!®. Simple design, soft colors, and an easy fun fold you can use again and again.

Thinking of You Sympathy Card

This softer version uses the Gallery Blooms bundle and Beautiful Gallery DSP. I colored the flowers with Calypso Coral and Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Blends and added a sentiment punched with the Three Banners Punch.

A few Earthy Matte Dots and an embossed background give quiet texture — perfect for sympathy or get-well cards.
