Window Tri-Fold Card – Easy Fun Fold with 4 Card Ideas

This week’s project is a window tri-fold card, and it is one of those designs that feels a little “extra” in the best way – but once you make one, you’ll realize how simple it really is. It’s a great way to show off your patterned paper and your dies without overthinking anything.

So Glad We’re Friends with the Cutest Crew

This one is just plain adorable. The little dogs from the Cutest Crew bundle completely steal the show here, and I love how pulling them apart from the original stamped image lets you customize your scene. I started by stamping and then die-cut them with the Cutest Crew dies. Then, I carefully cut the dogs apart to get just the ones that I wanted.

The soft, neutral background from the Paper Medley Mix-In Designer Series Paper keeps everything calm and lets those stamped images pop. I used the Nested Essentials dies to create the window, and that stitched frame detail really pulls everything together.

Measurements for this Fun Fold Card

Here's the basic measurements for this fun fold: 

Supplies:

• Cardstock: 11" x 4 1/4", scored at 5 1/2"
• Cardstock: 7 1/2" x 4", scored at 5 1/4"
• Patterned paper: 5 1/4" x 4"
• Patterned paper: 2" x 3 3/4"
• White or vanilla cardstock: 5" x 3 3/4"
• Shape dies or punch
• Additional cardstock, stamps, ink, adhesive, embellishments

Hugs Card with Bright & Playful Layers

This one is such a great example of letting your supplies do the work.

The striped Beautiful Ordinary Life Designer Series Paper brings in all that color, and then the stamping from the Bordered & Beauty stamp set adds just enough detail without overwhelming the design.

I used the same frame technique here and on the next card – mounting the die cut onto a slightly larger white layer – and then stamped inside it to create the focal point. The Pool Party, Darling Duckling, and Flirty Flamingo combo is cheerful without being over the top.

This is one of those cards you can make when you want something quick but still feel like you made something special.

Have a Fabulous Day with Phrases & Frames

This card has a really fun little detail that makes a big difference.

The Phrases & Frames dies cut both the inside and outside of the shape, which makes them perfect for creating a custom window. Instead of just floating the frame, I backed it with a slightly larger piece of white cardstock on the inside flap – which gives it stability and makes everything line up beautifully.

This card was inspired by Susan Campfield who also helped design the Phrases & Frames stamp set as a Million Dollar Achiever.

The color combo of Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, and white paired with the Beautiful Ordinary Life Designer Series Paper gives this one a fresh, happy feel. And that layered frame? It looks way more complicated than it actually is.

Black & White Congratulations

And then we went full bold.

This black and white version is such a fun contrast to the others. The Paper Medley Mix-In Designer Series Paper gives you that classic polka dot and stripe combo, which already feels polished without needing much else.

The sentiment from Sending Salutations keeps it clean, and the Floral Flight Accents butterfly adds just enough texture and dimension. I added a few tiny dots with a journaling pen – super simple, but it finishes the card in a really intentional way.
