Autumn Trees with Mango Leaves

I'm getting my week started and my creative juices flowing with another color challenge from Color Throwdown (ctd563). This week the challenge was to use orange, lavender, purple, and green. Definitely not your typical color scheme! So, I pulled out Mango Melody, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, and Granny Apple Green to create this fun fall card.

I just received the From Our House to Yours stamp set in the mail and was dying to use it. While the stamp set is from the 2019 Holiday Catalog and is presented as a Christmas set, there is so much more you can do with it! I'm sure I'll be providing many more samples with this stamp set in the weeks to come. I decided I wanted to try to make a fall looking card.

This set is great because it's a two-step stampin' set so you can easily stamp in multiple colors. I stamped the house in Highland Heather on Whisper White cardstock and added a Soft Suede roof and a Gorgeous Grape door.

To suggest fall, I stamped the deciduous tree trunks in Soft Suede and added the half circle for the leaves in Mango Melody. I also stamped the pine tree trunk with Soft Suede and then the triangle for the pine needles with Granny Apple Green. This way, the central image includes all of the colors from the color challenge. I cut this focal image using the Stitched Rectangles dies. I layered the image on a piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock.
To create some interest in the background, I stamped more deciduous trees in Soft Suede and Mango Melody on a piece of Mango Melody cardstock. To get the stitching along the bottom and top of the piece of Mango Melody to match the stitching on the central image, I used a die from the Stitched Rectangles dies that was larger than my piece of Mango Melody cardstock. I lined up the inside edge with the edge of my cardstock, secured it with a couple pieces of washi, and ran it through my Big Shot. Then, I turned it around and did the other edge. I layered this piece on a Granny Apple Green cardstock.

I cut a piece of Highland Heather cardstock slightly smaller than my card base (4 1/16" x 5 5/16"). Then, I embossed it using the Subtles embossing folder. After assembling the pieces of my card, I added a couple of Adhesive Backed Sequins from last spring's Occasions Catalog.

I'm not sure I completely succeeded in making a fall card with so much Highland Heather, but it was a fun card to make and I love the Mango Melody trees!
