Easy slim line card ideas for guys using the He's the Man suite from Stampin' Up! Beautiful patterned paper makes it easy to create these masculine cards with the He's All That stamp set and dies.
It's hard to believe that it is already the middle of May! Before you know it, Father's Day will be here. The He's the Man suite from Stampin' Up!® is perfect for creating Father's Day cards or other masculine cards. It has you covered! Birthday, anniversary, congratulations - whatever handmade cards you need to make for guys, the He's All That stamp set is perfect. I used it to create a variety of slim line cards.

The suite has the He's All That Stamp set, coordinating dies, Rustic Metallic Dots, and the He's the Man patterned paper. This Designer Series Paper pack is unique because it has 2 sheets of already die-cut images that just pop out. You don't even need the stamps to create great cards. (You can check out a no-stamping card that I made with the paper over here.) This patterned paper will also be amazing for scrapbookers!

I've got lots of samples, supply lists, and dimensions for you below. So, on y go! Let's get stamping.

If you know me, you know that I love patterns and texture and layers! Today's spring cards have all of that and more. I'm playing with patterned paper using it for a background and also doing some paper piecing.

These cards use the Flowering Rain Boots stamp set from Stampin' Up!® You can find them in the 2022 January-June Mini Catalog. These cards use lots of different cardmaking techniques. If you missed my live video, be sure to watch the replay to see exactly how these cards were made.

You'll find all the dimensions and more info below. So, on y go! Let's get stamping.

Slim Line Shaker Card is Whale Done

3/29/2021

I think that you'll agree that this slim line card is whale done! I made this card with the Whale of a Time suite of products. Sadly, the Whale of a Time patterned paper is discontinued, but this fun shaker card could be made with other patterned papers. This card idea uses the same dimensions as last week's Whale of a Time slim line cards. So, on y go! Let's get stamping.
Slim line card idea that is also a shaker card. This fun slim line card uses the Whale of a Time suite of products including the Whale Done stamp set from Stampin' Up!

How to make this shaker card

To make the shaker on this slim line card, I cut the Pretty Peacock cardstock with two of the Stitched Shapes circle dies. I also cut a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet with the same circle dies. I cut a piece of Window Sheeting and a piece of the Whale of a Time patterned paper with the larger of the circle dies. I adhere the window sheet to the back of the Pretty Peacock circle, then I added the foam circle. I filled the circle with the Whale of a Time sequins before adding the patterned paper circle to the back.

I added this to the front of the slim line card. I added pieces of seaweed stamped in Granny Apple Green and coral stamped with Calypso Coral ink to the front of the circle. I embossed the greeting with white embossing powder and trimmed the end to match the end of the words. I added this to the front of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Slim Line Cards with the Whale Done Stamps are a big deal!

Slim line cards seem to be all the rage these days, and these slim line cards are kind of a big deal with the Whale Done stamp set and Whale of a Time patterned paper. All three cards have the same basic layout and the patterned paper and whale punch make them so easy to pull together. I love the Whale of a Time patterned paper because it is so bright and colorful. Sadly, it will be discontinued in just a few weeks, so you'll want to grab some before it's gone. Ok, on y go! Let's get stamping.
Fun slim line card ideas using the Whale of a Time patterned paper and Whale Done stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Slim Line Thank You Card

I used Calypso Coral cardstock for the card base on this slim line thank you card. The layer under the Whale of a Time patterned paper is Mango Melody. The patterned paper on the bottom is embossed with the with the Seabed 3D embossing folder. I stamped the whale with Just Jade ink and punched it with the Whale Builder punch. The greeting is stamped with Just Jade ink as well and layered on a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock cut with the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I tied the front with White Crinkled Seam Binding and added Whale of a Time sequins.

This card is a Big Deal

This slim line card has a Just Jade card base and Granny Apple Green layer. I stamped the seaweed with Granny Apple Green ink, the coral with Pretty Peacock ink, and the seahorses with Just Jade ink. The sentiment is stamped with Pretty Peacock ink as well. The front panel is 3 1/4" x 2 1/8" and layered it on a piece of Granny Apple Green cut with the Stitched so Sweetly dies. Thanks a Ton Card Idea

My last card has a Pretty Peacock card base with Pool Party layers. I cut the circle and the circle layer with the Layered Circle dies. The whale is punched from a piece of the Whale of a Time patterned paper. I punched the water from his blow spout from one of the water patterns in the patterned paper pack. I added a little Striped Blackberry ribbon. I love this ribbon because it is so easy to tie and makes beautiful bows!

I embossed the greeting with white embossing powder on Blackberry Bliss cardstock and trimmed it with my paper snips. Finally, I added a few more of the Whale of the Time sequins for a little bling, because who doesn't love bling?

Slim Line Mystery Sketch

8/19/2020

I have decided it is slim line card week this week! Last night we made a slim line card for Mystery Stamping. Here is the sketch for that card. The finished size is 9 1/4" x 3 3/4" and it will fit in a standard #10 business envelope. While the shape is little different, slim line cards can be quick and easy! So, on y go! Let's get stamping.

Cutting Dimensions:
Cardstock (card base): 7 ½ x 9 ¼”, scored at 3 ¾”
Light-colored coordinating cardstock: 3 ½” x 5 ¾”
White or Vanilla cardstock: 2 ¾” x 2 ¾”
Patterned Paper: 3 ½” x 3 ¼”

The cards have an image stamped on the lower left as well as a focal point image at the top of the card. The greeting is also stamped directly on the light colored cardstock on the bottom half of the card.

My first card uses the Merry Moose stamp set and Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper. I stamped the outline of the moose with Soft Suede ink and then the inside with Crumb Cake ink. Then I punched it out using the moose punch and added it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

My second card uses the To a Wild Rose stamp set and the Magic in this Night Designer Series Paper. This DSP is designed primarily for Halloween, but I love some of the black prints. Here, it really makes the Magenta Madness pop. I stamped the "Blessed" with Magenta Madness ink on Whisper White cardstock and then fussy cut it and added it with Stampin' Dimensionals on an angle. Finally, because every card needs a little bling, I added some basic rhinestones.

My final card uses the Snowflake Wishes stamp set and the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper from the 2020 August-December Mini Catalog. I pulled the colors from the DSP: Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, and Pacific Point. For the bling, I added some of the Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems.
