One of my favorite things about the end of summer is seeing the fields of sunflowers. I love these over-the-top gigantic yellow flowers. It's impossible to keep from smiling when you see a field bursting with them! The In Good Taste Designer Series Paper provides the perfect blue backdrop for the large yellow sunflower from the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set from Stampin' Up! This gorgeous patterned paper gives the idea of texture with its photo-realistic textiles, wood grains, and tiles, and the sunflower from Celebrate Sunflowers is large, mimicking the large proportions of the actual flower on your card front. So, on y go! Let's get stamping. I stamped the sunflower and leaves with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I colored the image with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. I love coloring with alcohol markers! It is so relaxing and it's so easy to get beautiful shading. If you've never tried an alcohol marker, you really should! They are definitely not the same as your old pack of crayola markers. Each pack of Stampin' Blends comes with a light and a dark marker. I colored the sunflower with the Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends and added just a little bit of the dark Mango Melody. I colored the leaves with the light and dark Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blend. The center of the sunflower is colored with Crumb Cake and Soft Suede alcohol markers.
If you'd like to see embossing happening, I have a few videos that show exactly how to do it. Like this one that shows how to do emboss resist or this one that shares how to do embossing with dye ink as well as doing it with Versamark ink. I finished my card by stamping a couple of the smaller sunflowers on a piece of 5 1/4" x 4" Whisper White cardstock for the interior of my card and coloring them as well. I also added a couple of Misty Moonlight enamel dots to the front of my card.
