If you've seen any of my lives before or my cards, you probably know that I LOVE Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. They are absolutely fabulous for coloring stamped images and shading. But, to be honest, they can get a little pricey when you start to add up all the different colors that you might want to use.

If you're just getting started and you want a cheaper way to color images in a variety of colors, I have two other coloring techniques for you today! I used the Soft Pastels Assortment and the Watercolor Pencils from Stampin' Up!® with Blender Pens to color on two of these cards. The third one is done with Stampin' Blends so that you can see the difference in look between the different coloring techniques.

I shared exactly how to do these techniques on this week's YouTube live. If you missed, you can watch the replay right here to see the video tutorial of how it's done.

I have more photos and the supply lists below, so on y go! Let's get stamping.

Stampin' Blends Card Idea

I'm going to start by showing you the card that I colored with the Stampin' Blends. All three of these cards use the Abigail Rose patterned paper and the Blessings of Home stamp set for the sentiments.

I colored the roses on the patterned paper and then cut them out with my Paper Snips and applied them to the card front.

Soft Pastels Card Idea

For this second card, I colored the tulips with the Soft Pastels. Then, I used a blender pen to fine-tune the coloring and add some shading. The blender pen will pick up the pastel that is already on the flower and you can then color with it. Or, you can scribble some pastels on scrap paper and swipe your blender pen in it.

I did cheat a little and used a Stampin' Blends marker for the Soft Suede centers.

Water Color Pencils Coloring

For the last coloring technique, I used the Watercolor Pencils to color the roses on the patterned paper. Then, I used a Blender Pen to color over them and blend the pencil marks together. So quick and easy!

Like the first card, I fussy cut the flowers when I was finished and adhered them to another piece of patterned paper.
