Even though it's only March, Mother's Day will be here before we know it, and the retiring Welcoming Window stamp set from Stampin' Up!® is perfect for creating handmade cards for Mom. I've had this set sitting on my shelf for a while, so I'm really happy to finally get it out and give it a play.

This stamp set will be retiring at the end of April. (You can see the full retiring list here.) Right now though, you can get the bundle of stamp set and dies for 20% through the end of March. It's great for using with the Mini Cut & Emboss Machine which is also 20% off right now.

If you missed it, be sure to watch the video tutorial to see exactly how I made these cards - especially the partial embossing technique I used to create a hint of a brick wall.

I have supply lists and dimensions below for these handmade Mother's Day cards below.

So, on y go! Let's get stamping.

Simple Stamping Mother's Day Card

My first card is very simple - just stamps, ink, and paper or a SIP card. I stamped the window in Soft Suede with Balmy Blue shutters. I inked the bricks with Cinnamon Cider, but stamped it off on scrap paper before stamping on my card front.

I love the cute little plant. The pot is Cinnamon Cider and the little plant is Pear Pizzazz.

Basic White Thick: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Basic White: 3 3/4" x 5"
Balmy Blue: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"

A Stepped Up Welcoming Window

Like the first handmade card sample, this Mother's Day card features an open window with Balmy Blue shutters and a cute little plant. It also uses the same cutting dimensions. However, I stamped the images on Basic White and cut them with the coordinating dies.

The Crumb Cake background is embossed with the Brick & Mortar embossing folder. I used the partial embossing technique that I shared in the video tutorial to only emboss part of the Crumb Cake cardstock.

Mother's Day Bouquet

My last card is very different. It also uses the partial embossing technique with the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder. Here I have two potted plants on a simple shelf. The plants are highlighted with a circle of Basic White cut with the Layering Circle dies.

The Pear Pizzazz background is embossed with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder. If you don't have this folder yet, be sure to grab it before it's discontinued because it is perfect for so many cards!

Basic White: 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
Crumb Cake: 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"
