Create beautiful handmade cards using the Swiping rubber stamping technique. See the step-by-step video tutorial.
I've got a fun - and easy - rubber stamping technique for you: swiping. This is a direct to paper technique that is exactly what is says, swiping the ink on the cardstock. It makes a really great background for your handmade cards!

I shared how to do this technique during this week's Stamp with Me Tuesday. If you missed the live event, you can catch the replay below. I'll be sending out the printable project sheet for this technique tomorrow and next week Wednesday. Sign up for my newsletters here.

I've also got the supply lists and more photos of the sample card designs for you. Just click read more. Ok, on y go! Let's get stamping.

Video Tutorial for this Stamping Technique

Here's the step-by-step video tutorial for the swiping rubber stamping technique. I created a 4th sample card not shown here!

How to do the Swiping Technique

Start with a piece of white cardstock and 3-4 colors of ink. I find it best to choose analogous colors like red / orange / yellow or blue / green / yellow. Or try different shades of the same color!

Swipe the ink pads across the white cardstock using short strokes. When the cardstock is covered, you can choose to swipe the card front with a white ink pad to blend the colors even more.

Thank You Card with the Swiping Technique

Here's an easy handmade thank you card using the NEW Saying Hey stamp set from Stampin' Up!®️

I swiped the card front with Petunia Pop, Berry Burst, and Melon Mambo ink. Then, I went over the top with a white ink pad. Finally, I used the Of Art & Texture stamp set to add addition visual texture to the background.

Fun Masculine Card

Here's a fun masculine card idea using the Burger Bistro stamp set.

I created the background with the swiping technique using Early Espresso, Pecan Pie, Real Red, and White ink.

Then, I stamped the burger with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and I colored it with Stampin' Blends. I used the Burger Bistro dies to cut out the image as well as additional pieces for the burger.
