Easy Card Making Technique: Inked Embossing Folders

Y'all are going to LOVE this easy card making technique! It's such a great way to create a beautiful background for your handmade cards. And believe me, inked embossing folders is so simple. I showed you exactly how to do it during this week's Stamp with Me Tuesday. If you missed it, you can catch the replay below. For these sample cards, I used the Sweet Citrus, Fern, and Basics 3D embossing folders with the Sweet Citrus, Darling Details, and Hey Chuck stamp sets.

Handmade Floral Note Card

For my first sample card design, I used the Darling Details stamp set with the Fern 3D embossing folder. For the inked embossing folder technique, start by opening your embossing folder and inking one side of it with your ink pad. Then, carefully lay in your cardstock and emboss. The only hiccup to watch out for is that you need to be careful not to move your cardstock around after you lay it down.

For this card, I inked the Fern 3D embossing folder with Lemon Lime Twist ink and then embossed a piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.

Hey, Chuck Card

I love how the inked embossing technique looks with this Basics 3D embossing folder! These embossing folders come as a 3-pack. There is this dots pattern, a cross-hatch pattern, and a floral pattern. If you're wondering where they are in the catalog, they aren't. These embossing folders are available only online. 

I did a tone-on-tone combination for this card as well with Pretty Peacock. Isn't it cool how it makes the dots really pop off the page? And of course, I finished off the caqrd with the Hey, Chuck stamp set from Stampin' Up!®️

Add a Little Zest with this Card Making Technique

Doesn't this card making technique look AMAZING with the Sweet Citrus embossing folder and this color combination of Lemon Lolly and Pumpkin Pie? It's got a certain vintage look to it. 

I added a die-cut orange to the front that is also Pumpkin Pie ink stamped on Lemon Lolly with a little flower in Bubble Bath and leaves in Soft Sea Foam.
