This week's Terrific Technique is the Spotlighting Card Making technique. This is so fun and easy to do. It's great for larger detailed images where you don't want to color the whole thing. Really speeds up the cardmaking!

You can use stamped images like I did on the cards with the Warm Welcome and Dainty Delights stamp sets, or you can use black and white patterned paper like the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper. It's entirely up to you!

I also made an additional fourth card during this week's Stamp with Me Tuesday on YouTube. If you missed it, watch the replay to see exactly how to do this technique and see the card that I made during the live event.

I've got more photos, supply lists, and a FREE downloadable Quick Reference for you below. Just click "Read More." Ok, on y go! Let's get stamping.

Spotlight on Patterned Paper

This first sample card design uses the Perfectly Penciled patterned paper from Stampin' Up!® The images repeat themselves on the paper. So, I found the same image twice and cut one image with one of the larger Layering Circle dies. Then, I colored it with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers in Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Pool Party, Highland Heather, and Gray Granite.

I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored circle to the card front being careful to line up the edges of the images to create a flawless look. The sentiment is from the NEW Dainty Flowers stamp set that will be in the 2023 January-April Mini Catalog.

Spotlighting a Warm Welcome

This fun welcome card is quick to make sense there is so little coloring! It uses the Warm Welcome stamp set. I stamped the door in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Sahara Sand cardstock. Then, I stamped the flower image in the door. I also stamped the flower image on a scrap of Basic White cardstock.

I used the Layering Circle dies to cut out the flowers. Then, I colored them with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers in Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Crumb Cake, and Pool Party. I'll be using this stamp set again on Thursday!

Dainty Delights Card

My last sample card design uses the NEW Dainty Delights stamp set from the upcoming 2023 January-April Mini Catalog. It also uses the Dainty Flowers patterned paper which will be available for FREE during Sale-a-Bration 2023 with a $50 purchase. It's gorgeous and you are going to love it!

For the spotlight on this card, I colored the flowers in Highland Heather and Old Olive then added So Saffron in the background. This card is mounted on Old Olive cardstock. Handmade cards using the Spotlighting technique are so quick and easy to make!
