Easy DIY Gift Card Holder

What gift is given the most? Gift cards! Here is a easy DIY gift card holder that you can make for Christmas, birthdays, or just to say thank you. You can keep the stamping simple with just stamps, ink, and paper, or add extra pizzazz to your gift card holder.

Simple Stamping Thank You Card

My first sample gift card holder uses only stamps, ink, and paper for a simple stamping or SIP card. I used the Love of Leaves stamp set with the Harvest Meadow patterned paper.

Cutting dimensions for this easy gift card holder

• Cardstock: 5 ½” x 4 ¼”
• Cardstock: 9” x 4 ¼”, scored at 3” & 6”
• Coordinating Cardstock: 2 ¾” x 4”
• White or Vanilla Cardstock: 2 ½” x 3 ¾”
• White or Vanilla Cardstock: 2 ¾” x 4”
• Patterned Paper: 5 ¼” x 4”
• Patterned Paper: 3” x 3”

Handmade Birthday Card with a spot for a gift card

My second gift card sample uses the Way to Goat stamp set. I almost pulled out the Nuts About Squirrels stamps, but I decided that it had been a while since I used these fun goats. I paired the goats with the Pattern Party patterned paper. I stamped the goat in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. On the inside, it doesn't show, but I gave the little goat some blue sparkly eye shadow by adding a little Wink of Stella.

Christmas card gift card holder

Sometimes, I find that giving a gift card feels a little impersonal. Especially at Christmas time, I miss giving a gift wrapped up in fancy paper with a big bow. So, I always love to have special handmade gift card holders to make giving a gift card a little more special and personalized. 

This Christmas gift card holder uses the Christmas Season bundle and Christmas to Remember stamps. I've paired it with the coordinating Painted Christmas patterned paper. I stamped and die cut one of the pine cones and added a little gold trim under it for a little pizzazz.
