Easy Fun Fold Explosion Card

You're going to love how easy it is to make this fun fold explosion card that features a gate fold card base. Just a few score lines and some folds and you have a card that will wow your friends!

Fun fold explosion card with the Cheerful Daisies stamp set

Cheerful Daisies Explosion Card

This card sample uses the Cheerful Daisies stamp set with the Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!®️ I layered the patterned paper on Moody Mauve and Fresh Freesia cardstock. 

To make this card, start by scoring a piece of 4" x 8" patterned paper at 2" and 6". Then, mark the center at 4" on the top and bottom. Score from each outside corner to the opposite center mark. 

The trickiest part is getting it to fold in correctly. You can fold on each of the score lines in both directions to make it easier to fold in the triangles at the top and bottom of the patterned paper.

Then, adhere the right side of the folded patterned paper to the right front of the card and the left side to the left front. When you open the card it will explode open.

You can add a piece of white cardstock to the center for writing your message. However, you might want to write your message before adhering the white cardstock because it doesn't lay flat on the card when the patterned paper is adhere to the base.

Create the Belly Band for this Fun Fold Card

To finish your fun fold explosion card, add two pieces of patterned paper to the two front flaps of the gate fold card base. Then, create a belly band to wrap around the card and adhere the ends. Finally, create a focal point for your card front and adhere it to the belly band.

​For this card, I used the Let's Go Shopping stamp set with the Les Shopes Designer Series Paper.

Little Monkey Explosion Card 

The last sample card design uses the Little Monkey stamp set with the Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper. I think the blues and greens and the leafy look of this patterned paper works well with the Little Monkey stamp set. What do you think?

I stamped and punched the monkey and added it to a circle punched from Garden Green Cardstock. I stamped the little heart, colored it with Lemon Lolly Stampin' Blends and put it in the monkey's hands. So cute!
