Easy Watercolor Techniques with Rubber Stamps

I love how easy it is to watercolor with rubber stamps! Because the image is already created for you, it's so much easier to simply color it in with a watercolor brush and re-inkers.

I shared how to watercolor with the Spotlight on Nature stamp set during Thursday night's YouTube live. If you missed it, you can watch the replay below. You'll also find the link to the supply lists and more photos of these cards. 

While this stamp set is great for watercoloring, it's not the only way to use these stamped images! It also works great for collage stamping and coloring with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.

Handmade Thank You Card with Watercolors

I used re-inkers and a Water Painter to watercolor the images from the Spotlight on Nature stamp set to create this beautiful handmade thank you card. 

I also used the Deckled Circles and Spotlight on Nature dies to cut out the focal image for this handmade card. I started by stamping the flowers and butterfly with Saddle Brown Stazon ink on Fluid 100 Watercolor paper. Then, I mixed ink from a re-inker with water and applied it with a Water Painter.

Collage Stamping on a Handmade Card

For this handmade card, I created a collage background with the Spotlight on Nature stamps. I started by stamping multiple images on a piece of Basic Beige cardstock. Then, I used blending brushes to add color to some of the images. I finished by using the splotches stamp to add some more color and brushed the edges of the cardstock with the Basic Beige ink.

Thank You Card with Stampin' Blends

Here's another handmade thank you card using the Spotlight on Nature stamp set and coordinating dies. This time, I used Stampin' Blends alcohol markers to color the stamped image. 

I stamped the flowers with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Then, I colored the flowers with Pretty in Pink Stampin' Blends. Finally, I stamped the speckles with Pretty in Pink ink.
