Four-Square Cards with Just Stamps, Ink, & Paper

I love being able to create beautifully cards quickly and with very limited supplies. If you do too, you are going to love this Four-Square Card Technique. I guess they're really rectangles instead of squares, but four-square sounds better than four-rectangle. 

These cards use just stamps, ink, and paper - so simple! I used a variety of different bold stamps for these cards. You could do this with line-image stamps, but then you'd have to color the images. And I wanted quick and easy cards!

Easy Handmade Christmas Cards

The Four-Square Cards technique is perfect for creating quick and easy handmade Christmas cards. It's so easy to just stamp up four cards in a flash since you're doing all the stamping and then cutting and assembling. I kept all of my sample cards very simple, but you could add embellishments or ribbon to them.

These sample holiday cards use the Leaves of Holly stamp set from Stampin' Up!® These stamps do have coordinating dies, but I didn't use them for these simple cards. I stamped with Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow, Poppy Parade, and Cherry Cobbler.

Quick Birthday Cards

For these birthday cards, I wanted to use the Artistically Inked stamp set because I knew it would be perfect for this technique. But, I chose colors from the Regals Collection to give these floral cards more of a fall feel. 

I stamped the swirly background with Crushed Curry down the center of a piece of Basic White cardstock going both directions. Then, I added flowers and leaves in Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive. I cut the cardstock into 4 pieces to create the four card fronts.

Holiday Card Idea with Joyful Flurry

Here's another holiday card design using the Joyful Flurry stamp set. I stamped the snowflakes in Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, and Fresh Freesia. 

I sized the sentiment strips for these cards to use the leftover cardstock from the sides of the Basic White and colored cardstock layers. However, you could use larger sentiments if you wish. I just wanted to keep the supplies down to 3 pieces of colored cardstock and 1 piece of Basic White.
