Joseph's Coat is a rubber stamping technique that has been around for ages! But, it's still as awesome as it ever was. Back in the day, we used brayers to apply rows of color. Now, I used blending brushes to get puffs of color in different areas.

I showed exactly how to do this technique using Stampin' Up!®️ products during my weekly Stamp with Me Tuesday YouTube Live this week. If you missed it, you can check it out below. You can also find more samples and the supply list. So don't forget to click "Read More."

Want the Quick Reference Guide with all the measurements for this technique? You can get it in a bundle with all of my other Stamp with Me Tuesday guides from January-March 2023.

Card Sample with the Best Butterflies Stamp Set

This sample card design uses the awesome Best Butterflies stamp set. (I'll be using this set at the Stamping Cross Country Virtual Retreat!) I started by covering my Basic White cardstock in spots of Pool Party, Melon Mambo, Mango Melody, Fresh Freesia, and Gorgeous Grape. Then, I stamped the butterflies with Versamark ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder. I colored over them with Night of Navy ink and then wiped off the butterflies to reveal the gorgeous color underneath. To finish the card off, I embossed the sentiment in white and layered it on a circle of Pool Party.

Brighten Someone's Day with a Handmade Card

This handmade card is sure to brighten anyone's day! I put layers of So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Petal Pink, and Pale Papaya on Basic White. Then, I stamped the Rays of Light stamp with Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. I used Pumpkin Pie ink to cover over the embossing.

To finish the card, I used the Basics Embossing Folders (one of the new online exclusive items) to emboss dots on Basic White cardstock. I punched clouds. Then, I added the sentiment with the Sending Smiles stamp set and dies.
From creating innovative rubber stamping projects to crafting simple-yet-dazzling card designs, the Joseph's Coat rubber stamping technique is an oldie but a goodie! With Stampin' Up!'s Rays of Light stamp set, Sending Smiles bundle, and other products, you can produce creative designs that are sure to make someone smile. Let's take a look at Joseph's Coat and how it can bring your crafting projects to life!
