Got Scraps? Make a Card with the Taco Fiesta Stamp Set

Who doesn't have paper scraps, right? And that patterned paper is just too gorgeous to throw away even a scrap! I have a great cardmaking idea for you that uses paper scraps. I used the Taco Fiesta stamp set and the Flowering Zinnias patterned paper from Stampin' Up!®️ I love this set! You know me, I'm a sucker for stamp sets that include faces to put on inanimate objects.

Scrap Paper Birthday Card

I love the bright colors in the Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper and I have been using it ALL THE TIME. So, I have a lot of scraps. This was a great way to use those scraps since I just couldn't stand to throw them away.

I started with a piece of white cardstock and put Multipurpose Glue (i.e. green glue) on it. I laid down the strips right next to each other so that they over the full piece of cardstock. Then, I trimmed the edges. Such and easy card making technique!

Fiesta Birthday Card

I love this little pinata. I colored him to match the Flowering Zinnias patterned paper. Then, I cut a piece of the paper with the Stylish Shapes dies and wrapped some Linen Thread over the top of it so that it looks like the pinata is hanging.

I used the Mini Alphabet dies to cut out the word Fiesta from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. Then, I cut the "it's your birthday!" portion of the sentiment you see in the previous card to put under the Fiesta.

I added lots of Shiny Sequins. So sad these are currently unavailable, but they'll be back!

Can a handmade card be spicy?

This card's a little spicy! I stamped the images and colored them with Stampin' Blends. Then I fussy cut them to create a border on a piece of the Flowering Zinnias patterned paper. 

For the fun Poppy Parade zig zag, I used the Basic Borders dies. (You can see it on the previous card as well!) I love this fun little pop of color and a different line on the card.
