Halloween Treats that are Easy to Make!

10/8/2021

These little Halloween treats are easy to make and perfect for handing out to trick-or-treaters or giving to friends. Each one has a mini candy bar tucked inside. Plus, they don't need a lot of fancy supplies to make them. It's basically just stamps, ink, paper, and a little ribbon. I used the Clever Cats stamp set, but you could use other Halloween stamps. Your kids, grandkids, or neighbors will smile to find these in their trick-or-treat buckets. Be sure to read all the way through to see ideas for using these ideas for other holidays as well. So, on y go! Let's get stamping.
Make some fun handmade treat bags for your favorite trick-or-treaters this Halloween. These little treat bags hold fun-sized candy bars. Get the cutting dimensions to make your own treat bags!

A purr-fect Halloween treat

These treat bags use two pieces of paper. You can use cardstock for one and patterned paper for the other, cardstock for both, or patterned paper for both. Here, I used the Cute Halloween patterned paper with the Clever Cats stamp set.

Cutting dimensions for these treat bags

Inside: 3" x 6", scored @2", 2 3/4", 4 3/4", 5 1/2"
Outside: 2" x 10 3/4", scored at 5" and 5 3/4"
Basic White: 1 9/16" x 2 13/16"
Basic Black: 1 3/4" x 3"

Jack-o-lantern Halloween treat bag

Here's another sample treat bag using the same stamps and papers. Exact same layout, just different stamped images. These are still from the Clever Cats stamp set, so you don't have to have cats, if you don't want them. But, why wouldn't you want sassy cats?

I also completed the top with the Tailored Tag punch. I slid the outside cardstock through the punch so that only one end is punched. Then, I used the Label Me Pretty punch to make the hole for the glittered organdy ribbon.

Change the treat bag size

You can use this same basic treat bag idea to create different sized bags for different sized treats. This one has a mini bag of M&Ms inside. Instead of the Cute Halloween patterned paper, I used the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper. (This paper is amazing! And only available for purchase with a $100 order or workshop.)

Inside: 3 1/4" x 8 1/2", scored at 3 1/2", 4", 7 1/2", 8"
Outside: 10 1/2" x 3 1/2", scored at 5" and 5 1/2"
Basic White: 2" x 3"
Pumpkin Pie: 2 1/4" x 3 1/4"

Create a fun treat bag for your Thanksgiving table. These little treat boxes could also be used as place cards by just writing the names at the top.

Fall treat bag for your Thanksgiving table

I used the same original design and created a fall treat bag. This would be fantastic as a little favor to set out for your Thanksgiving table. You could even write your guests' names above the leaf and use them as handmade place cards.

I used the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set in Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Mango Melody, and Crumb Cake. I added a little Diamond Weave Ribbon and Baker's Twine to the top.

Little treat bag for Christmas candy

How about a little handmade treat bag for Christmas candy? I used the Gingerbread & Peppermint patterned paper for the inside and Real Red cardstock for the outside. For the decoration on the front, I used the Merriest Moments stamp set in Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz, and Real Red ink. The top is tied with a little Crinkled Seam Binding.

These little threat bags or treat boxes really are so easy to make!
