Handmade Wine Tags to Snazz Up Your Hostess Gift

As everyone starts to head back to parties and gatherings, you're suddenly faced with needing to get some hostess gifts or birthday gifts. I don't know about you, but my standard hostess gift when I go to a party is a bottle of wine. Pop on one of these handmade wine tags to make your next bottle even more festive! I used the Puffin Party and Biggest Wish stamp sets with the Basic Border dies for these fun wine bottle tags. On y go! Let's get stamping.
Want an easy gift? Make a cute bottle tag to slip over a bottle of wine, tequila, or maybe bubble bath. This fun wine bottle tag is made with the Party Puffins stamp set from Stampin' Up! and is perfect for quick gift wrap.

Birthday Wine Bottle Tag

These wine tags are all 2 7/8" wide. That was the size that would fit the width of my chosen Rectangle die nicely. The part at the top that will slip over the wine bottle is 2 1/2" x 2 7/8". So, whatever length you cut your tag, score it at 2 1/2". I used the Layering Circle dies to cut the hole and it is approximately 1 3/8" diameter. You want to cut it more towards the top so that you have additional room before the fold to accommodate the curve of the wine bottle. I didn't make the top wider because I like that it doesn't have a lot of extra cardstock on the other side of the bottle.
Bottle tags turn a boring bottle of wine into a fabulous and easy birthday gift! This handmade wine bottle tag uses the Party Puffins stamp set from Stampin' Up!
Need an easy birthday gift? Make a cute puffin wine bottle tag and slip it over a bottle of something nice. Or maybe use this on a bottle of bubble bath? or Tequila?
The width on this Stitched Rectangle die was perfect, but it was a little shorter than what I wanted. So, I cut one rectangle from the You're a Peach patterned paper and I cut another from Basic White cardstock. I cut one end of the Basic White cardstock with the Basic Border dies and then layered it over the patterned paper so that it made the rectangle longer. You can see I did the same basic thing on each of these wine tags.

This little puffin is ready for a party, but the cake is pretty heavy. (Did you know that puffins are only the size of a soda can?!?) I added a little Wink of Stella to the icing on the cake. The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder on Basic Black cardstock. Finally, I added a few Artistry Blooms Adhesive-backed sequins for a little bling because we all need a little bling on our birthdays.

Hostess Gift Idea

For this hostess gift wine tag, I used the Biggest Wish stamp set and stamped Thanks repeatedly with Balmy Blue ink on Balmy Blue cardstock. I cut the end with the Basic Borders dies and layered it over some patterned paper from the You're a Peach Designer Series Paper. I stamped the script thanks with Calypso Coral ink, fussy cut it, and added a little Wink of Stella.

Tell your hostess how much you appreciate her by slipping this wine bottle tag over the bottle of wine before you knock on her door. This handmade tag turns a bottle of wine into a fabulous hostess gift idea. This adorable puffin can't wait to say thanks!

Party Puffin Wine Bottle Tag

This little puffin is ready for a party! I cut a rectangle with the Stitched Rectangle dies from Basic White cardstock. Then, I cut it into two pieces with the Basic Border dies. I love these dies! They have fabulous stitching on both edges which make them perfect for creating this opening effect.

I heat embossed candles in the background with clear embossing powder and did a little ink blending with Pale Papaya. Our blending brushes make it so easy to do fabulous ink blending techniques!

Thanks! No, I'm sorry I don't have a PDF. My online card classes always include full tutorials, but my videos and blog posts just have the basic measurements in the blog post. For these wine tags you really only need the width (2 7/8") and the distance from the end to the fold where the hole goes (2 1/2"). You can add as much as you want to the 2 1/2" to make the tag the length you want. You might start with a 8 1/2" x 2 7/8" piece, score it at 2 1/2" and then cut the tag side to the length you want.
