Happy Handmade Cards through Rain or Shine

You know, when I first saw the Playing in the Rain stamp set and the Rain or Shine Suite in the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog, I wasn't very excited about it. Boy, I'm glad that I got it anyway, because I think it is my favorite stamp set right now! I just can't get over how cute these little critters are. They make me so happy!

And, can we take a minute to talk about this patterned paper? It is gorgeous! One side is the rain and the other is the shine. It's also a specialty paper, so one side of each sheet has embossed areas either the umbrellas, the raindrops, or something else.

Playing in the Rain Handmade Card

Here's the cute handmade card that I made during my YouTube live. I love the look of using the lighter patterned paper on the bottom and the darker piece on the top with the cloud bottom. I cut the top piece of the Rain or Shine Designer Series Paper with the Basic Borders dies.

The rabbit was stamped, colored with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers, and die-cut with the coordinating dies. The same is true of the puddles. But the umbrella was die-cut from the patterned paper. You can catch a little of the shine from the embossed portion of the paper.

And of course, I had to add the sentiment to a piece of Basic Gray cardstock cut with the Cloud Punched.

Fun Card for a Friend

Here's a cute little foxy card that would be perfect to send to a friend. I think it'd be great as a thank you card after they did something nice for you when you were sick or in need. When would you send this card?

I die-cut the fox from the patterned paper with the Playing in the Rain dies and added it to the front with Stampin' Dimensionals. The sentiment is stamped on Basic White and cut with the Cloud punch. I also added a couple clouds cut with the die cuts.

Here's the fun fold card that I made during this week's Stamp with Me Tuesday. You'll find more samples of this card design over here. I didn't use any of the die-cuts on this card because I wanted to keep it simpler. Instead, I stamped the turtle, clouds, and flowers and colored them with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. And of course, I used the Cloud punch again!
