For this week's Stamp with Me Tuesday, we did this cool faux torn paper technique using Masking Paper and Blending Brushes. It is so easy to do and works fabulously with a variety of stamps! I used the Hello Ladybug, Botanical Layers, Ranunculus Romance, and Best Butterflies stamp sets from Stampin' Up!®

Start by tearing masking paper. Adhere to your cardstock and blend over the edge with a light-colored ink. Stamp images. Remove the masking paper and finish your card as you'd like. These are great for Simple Stamping or SIP cards (stamps, ink, & paper).

All of the supply lists and more photos are below, so be sure to hit the read more button.

Like every Tuesday, I have a free downloadable quick-reference guide for this technique. They are formatted so that you can punch them and store them in a 3-ring binder to create a reference book for yourself filled with techniques, fun folds, and sketches.

Ok, on y go! Let's get stamping.

Hello Ladybug Card Design

All of these cards use the same basic dimensions for the cardstock:

Card Base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Layer: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
Stamped Layer: 3 3/4" x 5"

This first sample card design uses the Hello Ladybug stamp set in Daffodil Delight and Sweet Sortbet.

Simple Floral Card Idea

This simple floral card design uses the Ranunculus Romance stamp set. I started with Very Vanilla cardstock, blended on Crumb Cake ink and stamped the flowers with Soft Suede. Then, I stamped the ledger with Crumb Cake. I colored the flowers with the Light Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend alcohol marker.

Sale-A-Bration 2022 Notecards

This card idea uses the Botanical Layers stamp set and the Pool Party & Soft Sea Foam notecards & envelopes that you can get FREE during Sale-A-Bration 2022 with a $50 order.

Instead of using Basic White or Very Vanilla for the stamped layer, I used Soft Sea Foam. Then, I blended on Soft Sea Foam ink and even stamped the largest leaves in Soft Sea Foam.

Best Butterflies Card Idea

I just got the Best Butterflies stamp set and had to pull it out and make a card with it! It worked great for this faux torn paper technique!

I blended Pool Party ink on Basic White cardstock. Then, I stamped the butterflies in Gorgeous Grape, Melon Mambo, and Bermuda Bay. Such a quick and easy card!
