New Fun Fold Card with Patterned Paper

Easy Fun Fold card idea: the Vertical Double Fold. Includes samples, supply lists, video tutorial, and a free downloadable quick-reference guide for this fun fold card.

When I saw a friend give another friend this fun fold card last week, I knew I had to share it with you! Because I've never seen it before, I have no idea what it is called. So, I'm dubbing it the Vertical Double fold card. It is a perfect way to show off that gorgeous patterned paper you've got in your stash. And it's so easy to make!

One thing that I love about this card is that the base is just a vertical half sheet of cardstock. Some fun fold cards end up using a large portion of an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock leaving you with smaller scraps. But, you could make a complete card with one sheet of cardstock with this design. (Of course then you wouldn't get contrasting colors, so maybe make two cards with two sheets!)

Best Butterflies Fun Fold Card Idea

My first card uses the Best Butterflies stamp set and Butterfly Kisses patterned paper from Stampin' Up!® I used the Stylish Shapes dies to cut a stitched square and circle for the focal points on both layers.

This card was so easy to make thanks to Stampin' Up!'s awesome color coordination! I didn't have to spend time trying to match colors. Instead, I checked the color list on the package of Butterfly Kisses patterned paper, chose three, and pulled those colors of ink and cardstock out to create my project. Easy peasy!

Like the first sample, I used the Stylish Shapes dies to cut the pieces for the focal points on each layer. I stamped the sentiments on these. The rest of the images are cut from the Rings of Love patterned paper. I added a couple of sprigs of greenery on the second layer where they would show when the card is closed.

Fond of Autumn Thank You Card Design with a Fun Fold
