Petal pink sunflowers

With only two more days until the release of the new catalog, I can no longer resist sharing new stamps, papers, and accessories with you! There is so much good stuff coming. However, if there are retiring products on your wish list, you are down to the wire. Be sure to get your orders in before June 2. Ok, on to sunflowers. On y go! let's get stamping.

This card features the new Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set and the coordinating Sunflower dies. I know, sunflowers are generally yellow. I decided to take some artistic liberty and color this one Petal Pink. I have a good reason for doing so.

This card also uses the new In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. This paper is filled with wood grains, ceramic tiles, and textile prints. Naturally, it's primarily browns, grays, and white. However, one of the colors in the paper pack is Petal Pink. When you place many of the wood grain prints along side a piece of Petal Pink cardstock, you notice the pink undertones in the brown. This means that pairing the papers with Petal Pink, like this sunflower card, helps create a beautifully harmonious pallet.

So, while the wood grains look fabulous combined with any color, I encourage you try them with Petal Pink and Rococo Rose to see what happens.

Can you see the texture on the piece of Early Espresso tucked behind the wood grain? That's the new Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. I think it will be competing with the Subtle 3D embossing folder for the spot of most used embossing folder in my craft corner.

For the inside of the card, I added an additional sentiment from the stamp set and some smaller flowers along the bottom. The sentiment stamps may be the best part of this stamp set. I love the fonts and how the fonts are interwoven with each other!

All of the flowers on this card are stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored with Petal Pink and Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends. The leaves are colored with Old Olive Stampin' Blends.

P.S. The black Stampin' Dimensionals carried over to the new Annual Catalog and I actually remembered to use them on this dark colored project! It's nice when I catch a glimpse of the card sideways that I'm not distracted by white dimensionals.
