Poppies, Poppies, Poppies!

I may have gone a little overboard on the number of variations I made for last night's Mystery Stamping, but once I pulled out the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper, I just couldn't stop! I love, love, LOVE this paper, but I realized that I've hardly used it. That's because I love the poppies in other color combinations as well, like the Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, and Mint Macaron ones I did Monday. But that means that there were tons of color combinations to try. So, on y go! Let's get stamping.

Here is the basic sketch for the card.

Cardstock:

8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”
3 ¾” x 5”

Whisper White or Vanilla cardstock: Scraps
Patterned paper: 3 ½” x 4 ¾”
Coordinating patterned paper: 1 ¼” x 4 ½”

You can cut the banner end by making a small mark at 5/8" where you want the center tip to be and then cutting into to that from the corners. Or you can use the corner of a square punch or die to cut the end.

Here is my original card. I used the retiring Witty-Cisms stamp set. I love this set. It is another one that I had hoped would be carried over into the new Annual Catalog, but sadly will not be. I paired this fun strawberry with the bright See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper.

For this card, I used only one color of cardstock and added Stampin' Dimensionals between the two layers of cardstock to help it jump off the page.

The rest of my cards for this sketch use the Painted Poppies stamp set and the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper. While the stamps are carrying over into the new catalog (yay!) the paper will be retiring.

For the first two cards, I water colored the poppies using Rich Razzleberry and Blackberry Bliss ink and an Aqua Painter. Remember, when water coloring, you should always use a Stazon ink pad.

The other two cards are colored with Poppy Parade and Old Olive Stampin' Blends. When using alcohol markers like Stampin' Blends, it is important to use a Memento ink pad which is a water-based ink.
