Quick Handmade Cards using Patterned Paper and Negative Space

This fun handmade card design uses strips of patterned paper and the negative space of a die-cut image. Whether you use dies, like the Tropical Layers dies, or punches, this is a quick and easy card to make! And it works with all sorts of patterned paper like the Artfully Composed paper in this sample.

Cutting Dimensions for this Easy Handmade Card

• Basic White Thick cardstock: 11” x 4 ¼”, scored at 5 ½”
• Basic White cardstock: 4” x 5 ¼”
• Basic White cardstock: 2 ½” x 3”
• Cardstock: 2 5/8” x 3 1/8”
• Patterned Paper: (5) ½” x 4” in coordinating patterns

Valentine's Day Card Idea

This cute Valentine's Day card uses the Sweet Talk patterned paper and Sweet Hearts dies. I used one of the sentiments from the Lighthearted Lines stamp set. The sentiment has a second part to it, but I cut it into two pieces so that I could use the only part of the greeting.

Cheery Handmade Rainbow Card

My last card uses the Sunshine & Rainbows patterned paper. I absolutely LOVE this paper AND you can get it free during Sale-A-Bration 2022. The die-cut comes from the coordinating Brilliant Rainbow dies. I added the sentiment from the Slim Sayings stamp set. These large, bold greetings are great for slim line cards and stardard-sized cards as well.
