Rubber Stamping Technique: Kissing with More Sample Cards

2/21/2022

Handmade card ideas using the Island Vibes and Watercolor Shapes stamp sets. See how to do the kissing rubber stamping and cardmaking technique for two images in one.
Last week I shared how to do the kissing technique for rubber stamping and card making using the Artfully Layered stamp set. I decided to use this technique to make a few more cards. I have a couple of samples with the Island Vibes stamp set and a sample with the In Bloom and All Squared Away stamp sets from Stampin' Up!®

This is the last week for Sale-A-Bration 2022, so I had to share just a few more samples using stamps and patterned paper that you can get free with a qualifying purchase. The Island Vibes stamp set has detailed fine line images. I paired it with the Watercolor Shapes stamp set to create images with colored backdrops.

You can watch the video I made last week to see how easy it is to do the kissing rubber stamping technique. Keep reading below for all the measurements for these cards and additional sample card ideas.

On y go! Let's get stamping.

Island Vibes Pineapple Card Design

For this first sample, I inked the circle stamp from the Watercolor Shapes stamp set with So Saffron ink. Then, I stamped on it with the pineapple stamp inked in Early Espresso. After stamping the image on Basic White cardstock, I added the hello from the Artistically Inked stamp set. The background is embossed with the Gingham embossing folder.

Thick Basic White: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2"
Early Espresso: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
So Saffron: 3 3/4" x 5"
Early Espresso: 2 7/8" x 2 7/8"
Basic White: 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"

Handmade Card with Island Vibes Palms

I started this sample card by stamping the palm leaves around the edges of a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock using Soft Sea Foam ink. Then, I embossed the piece with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder. For the main image, I inked the rectangle from the Watercolor Shapes stamp set with Soft Sea Foam and then stamped the palms from Island Vibes on it with Evening Evergreen ink.

Thick Basic White: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2"
Evening Evergreen: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
Soft Sea Foam: 3 3/4" x 5"
Evening Evergreen: 3 1/2" x 2 1/4"
Basic White: 3 3/8" x 2 1/8"

A Floral Card with Texture

My final card sample using the kissing technique has a completely different feel to it. I used the In Bloom stamp set for the floral images. I didn't ink them. Instead, I inked the background stamps from the All Squared Away stamp set with Magenta Madness ink and stamped them on the flower stamps. This leaves white dots on the flowers. I added a little of the Sunshine & Rainbows pattered paper (also available free during Sale-A-Bration) for even more color!

Magenta Madness: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2"
Magenta Madness: 5 1/4" x 4"
Sunshine & Rainbows: 3 1/4" x 5 1/4"
Magenta Madness: 2 1/4" x 5 1/4"
Pool Party: 1 7/8" x 1 3/8"
Basic White: 1 3/4" x 1 1/4", cut with the Stitched Rectangle dies
