Simple Card Template for a Split Front Card

This week's Mystery Stamping used a really fun card template to create an easy split front card. The front layer is cut diagonally to reveal the patterned paper underneath. How cute is that!

Card Template

Here is the simple card sketch for this handmade card. I love using card templates to create cards quickly! The new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog has lots of card sketches in it. If you haven't requested your free copy yet, hop over to my catalog page and fill out the request form. 

To create this card, start by adhering a piece of patterned paper to your card front. Then, take a second piece of cardstock and cut it diagonally. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere to two halves to your card front to create that split look.

Celebrate with a Handmade Card

My first sample card design uses the Softly Said stamp set with the Delightfully Eclectic and Flowering Zinnias patterned papers.

I used the Flowering Zinnias patterned paper under the slit in the front of the card. Then, I cut the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper with the Nested Essentials dies for the sentiment layer.

I stamped the sentiment in Petal Pink ink on Basic White and fussy cut it. I added some white flower embellishments to coordinate with the daisies in the patterned paper.

Split Front Card in NEW Colors

I used the new Summer Splash and Peach Pie colors for this handmade card. I love the bright blue-green of Summer Splash and the orange of the Peach Pie.

For the sentiment on this card, I used the NEW Thoughtful Wishes stamp set and colored it with Stampin' Blends in Peach Pie and Summer Splash.

Spec-Taco-Lar Card!

I am so sad that the Taco Fiesta stamp set is retiring at the end of April. It is such a fun stamp set! I stamped the focal image and sentiment with these fun stamps and colored it with Stampin' Blends. 

The card base is Lemon Lime Twist with a piece of the Flowering Zinnias patterned paper peeking through.
