Stampin' Friends Blog Hop: Monochromatic Card Ideas That Aren't Drab

3/26/2021

Often. we equate monochromatic with black and white, but monochromatic doesn't have to be drab! I have some fabulously bright monochromatic card ideas for you, plus a fun door knob treat holder that's perfect for a candy bar. This treat holder would be perfect for Easter, or a guest room door, or perhaps to welcome your colleagues back to the office. And, I'm using lots of retiring Stampin' Up! stamps and dies. There are some amazing products that are going to be discontinued soon.

I'm also hopping with the Stampin' Friends today. It's Monochromatic March and all of the project ideas are monochromatic. When you're done checking out my card ideas and gift idea, I hope you'll click through the rest of the Stampin' Friends blog hop and see what everyone else has made as well. So, on y go! Let's get stamping. So, on y go! Let's get stamping.

Ridiculously Awesome Monochromatic Card Ideas with To a Wild Rose

This pair of monochromatic card designs uses the To a Wild Rose and Ridiculously Awesome stamp sets from Stampin' Up! Both of these amazing stamp sets will be discontinued May 3. I LOVE these sets so much! The To a Wild Rose makes beautiful roses quickly and easily, while the Ridiculously Awesome stamp set has fun, bold greetings.

I chose Mango Melody for my Monochromatic color as it's one of my favorites. It's so bright and cheery! I used the stencils and blending brushes to add fading polka dots to my card front.

For my second card, I added the Well Written dies. This die set is filled with words, but I chose to use the vine from the set. Sadly, this set along with it's companion the Well Said stamp set will retire in May as well.

I colored the top layer of flower with the Mango Melody Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. Both the Mango Melody and the Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends will be discontinued too.

Candy Bar Door Hanger

This fun door hanger is the perfect size for a candy bar. This would be great to hang on a guest room door, or maybe make some for work colleagues when you head back to the office, or change the greeting and hang one on a friend's front door for Easter or May day. The possibilities are endless!

You can see the To a Wild Rose stamp on the Basic White cardstock. I love the monochromatic look of this image stamped repeatedly on white. You can also see the Well Said stamp set and Well Written dies used for the greeting.
