I hope you've gotten a chance to get your hands on the 2021-2023 In Colors from Stampin' Up! This year's batch of In Colors is fabulous! While they work great together - like Pale Papaya and Polished Pink or Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen, I wanted to try something different. So today, I have some unique color combinations that include each of the new In Colors.

I am also hopping with the fabulous Stampin' Friends today! This month's theme, if you haven't guessed, is the 2021-2023 In Colors. After you've checked out my projects, I hope you'll scroll down and click through the whole hop. You are going to LOVE all of the fabulous things these designers have created. Plus, find the Supply List for all of these projects all the way at the bottom of this post.

On y go! Let's get stamping.

Unique Color Combinations

If you participated in my 2021-2022 Annual Catalog Launch Party, you received this helpful oversized bookmark. The top section allows you to keep track of your inkpads, refills, markers, and blends. Because I don't own everything, this is really helpful for keeping from double purchasing items.

The bottom section has color combinations for the In Colors. I got these suggested colors from Stampin' Up!, but I haven't really tried them. So, I decided that today is the day to try unique color combos.

Color Idea: Polished Pink, Mango Melody, & Mossy Meadow

I have two thank you cards today that use the same basic design but in different colors. This first handmade card idea uses the Polished Pink In Color combined with Mango Melody and Mossy Meadow. This seemed like a really odd combo at first, but I love how this card turned out. The pink and orange are very dramatic!

For both of these card samples, I used the Artistically Inked stamp set and coordinating dies. It's fun to use this stamp set without the matching patterned paper.

Color Idea: Fresh Freesia, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green

I was much less hesitant about this color combination. The In Color Fresh Freesia seems like an adjacent color to Gorgeous Grape and I was pretty sure they were going to look fabulous together. And they do! Plus, I always love a little bright green with my purple.

You can see this thank you card is the exact same layout as the previous card design. I used the Dots embossing folder. This is one of the smaller embossing folders. So, after running it through my die-cutting machine once. I moved the folder over and fitted a few row of dots back in the groove before running again. This way I was able to cover the full card front with embossed dots.

Gift tag ideas using a fun rubber stamping technique. Multi-dip embossing creates a beautiful glossy finish. Samples using the Artistically Inked stamp set and new 2021-2023 In Colors from Stampin' Up!

Gift Tag Magnets

I continued my color exploration on a series of gift tag magnets. I used the Tailor Made Tags for the base of these gift tags. While they'd be great for gift wrapping, I think I'm going to add some magnets to the back to put them on my fridge.

I used a fun rubber stamping technique to give these tags a shiny finish. I multi-dipped the embossing powder. By putting on multiple layers of clear embossing powder, I was able to create a really smooth and shiny surface. Be sure to watch the video above to see exactly how I did it.

Color Idea: Evening Evergreen, Sahara Sand, Blackberry Bliss

I love the look of the Blackberry Bliss flowers and Evening Evergreen leaves on a backdrop of Sahara Sand. I wasn't sure about the new Evening Evergreen In Color because it's so dark, but it's very dramatic!

Once again, I used the Artistically Inked stamp set for these tags. I added the Beauty of Friendship stamp set for the greetings. I wanted sentiments that might work well as encouragement to having hanging on my fridge.

Color Combination: Soft Succulent, Mint Macaron, Rich Razzleberry

This color combination for the Soft Succulent In Color wasn't the one I was most interested in trying, but since I knew I was using flowers on the tag, I needed a color combo that would work with florals. I like the Mint Macaron and Soft Succulent together, but they are very close in color. I think it's hard to really see the difference in this photo. But, I love the way the Rich Razzleberry pops! What do you think?

Color Combination: Pale Papaya, Balmy Blue, Old Olive

My last color combo uses the 5th 2021-2023 In Color, Pale Papaya. I LOVE this color! And if you've seen some of my other blog posts, you've seen some of the fabulous cards that I have made with the Sweet as a Peach stamp set. The You're a Peach patterned paper uses the Pale Papaya and Balmy Blue color combo. I grabbed some of that paper for the striped background on this tag.

I have difficulty with color combinations, so I am always looking for suggestions. Thanks for sharing--I would not have thought of some of your beautiful combinations. I just ordered the tailor made tag set yesterday! I will give your tag/magnets a try.

I love your cards and tags and the color combinations used. I have forgotten all about that technique to make the tags shinny. I will definitely be revisiting it.
