Use a Simple Card Sketch to Create a Quick Handmade Card

For this week's Stamp with Me Tuesday Live video, we tried something new! I shared a simple card sketch, which you'll find below, and we made a card based on it. And of course, I shared some bonus sample cards!

This is such an easy card to pull together with bold stamps like I've used, but you could use line-art stamps as well. While I used an embossing folder to add extra texture to the front of each of my cards, it's entirely optional and can easily be left out.

Video Tutorial for this Simple Card

If you missed Tuesday night's live video tutorial, you can watch the replay right here. I walked you through step-by-step how I used this card sketch to create a card.

Here's the simple sketch that I used to create these cards. It's so easy! I used a standard card base and then two pieces of Basic White cardstock. One is 5" x 3 3/4" and the other is 5 1/8" x 3 7/8". I stamped the smaller piece along the bottom and then embossed it with an embossing folder to add texture. 

I tied a piece of Silver-Threaded Twine from Stampin' Up!®️ around the stamped piece of Basic White cardstock. Then, I adhered the stamped cardstock to the larger piece of Basic White cardstock and adhered it to the card front.

Finally, I stamped a sentiment on a scrap of Basic White and adhered it over the twine with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Tropical Card Filled with Love

This is the sample card that I made during my Tuesday night live. I used the Tropical Leaf stamp set which is one of the online exclusive items from Stampin' Up! that is currently available. Watch for new online exclusives coming in July!

I stamped the leaves in Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green and embossed the stamped cardstock with the Fern 3D embossing folder.

Zesty Handmade Birthday Card

I created this zesty handmade birthday card with the Sweet Citrus stamp set and embossed it with one of the Basic 3D embossing folders. These folders are another one of the online exclusive items that is currently available. 

I stamped the lemons in Daffodil Delight and used Daffodil Delight cardstock for the card base for this birthday card.

Seaside Birthday Card

I used the Sea Turtle stamp set to stamp the seaside images on this simple birthday card. If you like these, you're in luck because I'll be sharing more cards with these awesome rubber stamps on Thursday!

I stamped the coral in Petal Pink and added starfish and sand dollars in Crumb Cake. I used the Painted 3D embossing folder on this card. For the sentiment, I grabbed a simple "Happy Birthday" from the Something Fancy stamp set.
