Use a Simple Card Sketch to Make Cards for Every Season

With 5 Tuesdays in August, we got to do a second round of Mystery Stamping for Stamp with Me Tuesday. As always, we had a fun time creating cards. Head over to my Facebook group to see some of the cards that others created. 

This card is based on a simple card sketch and uses patterned paper to make a quick and easy impact. You'll find the card sketch below. I also have a free downloadable quick reference guide for it below, so that you can have the dimensions if you want to use this card design again later.

Cutting dimensions: 

• Cardstock: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  
• Cardstock: 3 5/8” x 2 5/8”
  
• Patterned Paper: 5 ¼” x 4”
  
• Coordinating Patterned Paper: 3 ½” x 2 ½”
  
• White or vanilla cardstock: 1” x 4 ½”
  
• White or vanilla cardstock die-cut or punched in a shape or that can be stamped and cut out
  
• White or vanilla cardstock: 5 1/4" x 4"

Bottled Happiness Card Idea

My first sample card design uses the Bottled Happiness stamp set and coordinating bottle punch from Stampin' Up!®. I used two different Designer Series Paper packs for this card. The background is the Gingham Cottage patterned paper. The smaller patterned paper is the host Design a Daydream pack. 

I stamped two different bottles. One is Mint Macaron and the other is Pool Party. I stamped the details with Mint Macaron on both of the bottles. 

​I added a few of the Festive Pearls in Mint Macaron as embellishments.

Thank You Card with Happier Than Happy Stamps

This handmade thank you card uses the Happier Than Happy stamp set and the Happy Forest Friends patterned paper. I used the coordinating dies to cut three trees from Sahara Sand cardstock to add to the background.

​To create the banner end on the sentiment strip, make a small snip in the center of the end of cardstock. Then, cut in from each corner to the bottom of the cut.

Christmas Card Idea with Sweet Gingerbread

This simple card sketch can be used to make cards for any occasion. Here's a sample card idea using the Sweet Gingerbread stamp set with the Santa Express patterned paper. 

I stamped the house with Crumb Cake and added details with Soft Suede. Then, I added details in Petal Pink and Mint Macaron. The coordinating dies cut out all sorts of pieces to go with the little house.  So cute! The Champagne Rhinestones work really well with the Petal Pink cardstock.
