Card Making Technique: Ink BrayeringI shared how to recreate this beautiful 3" x 3" card on my first YouTube live video last night. You can still watch the replay of the video to see how simple it is to create this beautiful sunset background. I started by stamping the water with my Tuxedo Black Memento ink pad. Then, I covered the water with a sticky note, and brayered the top half of the card front with Daffodil Delight Ink. Next, I brayered the very top portion with Calypso Coral and then Terracotta Tile ink. Finally, I stamped the leaves in black. To create the greeting, I had to perform a stamp-dectomy on my stamps. I very carefully cut the words apart. Then, I stamped each separately and cut them out before adhering them to my card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Last night's Card Class & Game Night was so much fun! We played games and I shared how to create these fun cards using the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper. I hope you'll join us for our next Card Class & Game Night on October 27. It's held virtually on the On Y Go! Stamping Facebook page. Register and order your card kit by October 18. On y go! Let's get stamping.
After adhere the black and white plaid from the Plaid Tidings patterned paper, I added the greeting circle using Stampin' Dimensionals. I punched the moose outline using the Moose punch from Basic Black cardstock and adhered it to the greeting circle. The card front is tied with a piece of linen thread, and then, the card front is glued to a Whisper White card base. This is a great masculine birthday card idea!
Sample Card using the Dino Days stamp setMy first sample card idea uses the Dino Days stamp set. (Did you know the Dino Roar patterned paper from the last catalog is currently available on the Clearance Rack for only $4.60? It's an amazing deal!) I stamped the dinosaur in Coastal Cabana ink and added a the spots with Gorgeous Grape ink. (I used these same spots to stamp the Coastal Cabana cardstock using Coastal Cabana ink.) I placed a mask over the dinosaur before stamping the trees. To create the mask, I stamped the dinosaur on a sticky note and cut it out. The tree trunks were stamped with Soft Suede ink and the leaves are Granny Apple Green. For the sentiment, I chose a stamp from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set. This set has all sorts of "Happy Birthday" greetings.
I stamped the rose centers and the sentiment, also from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set, with Blackberry Bliss ink to match the card base. I stamped the leaves with Granny Apple Green ink. For a little bling, I added some Iridescent Pearls to the card front. These pearls are from the 2020 August-December Mini Catalog and are sold as a Halloween embellishment, but I think they look great on any card. They are perfect when you want a dark colored embellishment to ground your images.
