Card sketches, like this one, make it easy to create cards quickly. You can keep the design just like the sketch, or change things up to work better for your rubber stamps or patterned papers.
For this week's Tuesday Night Mystery Stamping, we made cards based on this card sketch. You'll find my sample cards below using the Garden Greenhouse, Flowering Rainboots, and Catch You Later stamp sets. I hope you'll join me next Tuesday night in the On Y Go! Stamping Facebook group for our next Mystery Stamping event.
Don't you just LOVE getting a shipment of new Stampin' Up!® supplies? Or hitting your local craft store and grabbing a great deal? I know I do! It's so exciting and the new papers and stamps are so pretty and new. It makes my heart go pitter patter.
And then, you pull things out and your hear begins to sink. These new items are awesome, but how do I get started making something with them? Raise your hand if this has ever been you. I think we've all been there.
Friday, I did an impromptu YouTube live where I did an unboxing of new supplies that I received from Stampin' Up! - the Your Biggest Fan and Let's Set Sail bundles. But, I didn't stop there. I shared tips for getting started with those new stamps and made a couple of cards on the spot. Full disclosure - one of them didn't turn out as well as I would have liked. You can see it below.
I apologize for the horrible echo on this video. I didn't know that it was happening during the live. I'm working on fixing this for my next live event.
I have a fun card sketch for you today! I love card sketches because they make it so easy to create quick and easy cards, like this one with the Artfully Layered stamp set and Tropical Layer dies from Stampin' Up!® and of course, the Artfully Composed patterned paper! I absolutely love this paper with its bright leafy designs on one side and its subtle monochromatic designs on the other.
For this first sample, I left some pieces in the die-cut leaf. This gives the Calypso Coral a little more prominence on the card front. I added a few iridescent gems for a little sparkle.
I have a couple more samples and the sketch for you, so on y go! Let's get stamping.
Do you ever get new stamps and you aren't quite sure what to do with them? I find that using a simple card sketch can help when you're playing with a new stamp set or patterned paper. And I have a great one for you today!
I used this card sketch as the basis for my Mystery Stamping event this week. It was so much fun seeing what everyone came up with! I hope you'll join me next Tuesday night at 8pm Eastern in the On Y Go! Stamping Facebook group. I post the list of supplies on Monday afternoon or evening. Then, during a Facebook live event, I give you step-by-step instructions to complete the card with your prepared supplies.
We had another fabulous night of Mystery Stamping last night. I've created a card sketch of the basic layout that was used for the cards. This card sketch is perfect for using new patterned paper and stamps sets, like these from the NEW January-June 2022 Mini Catalog.
I've used the Blessings of Home, Sweet Conversations, and Artfully Layered stamp sets. They all work fabulously as would many other patterned papers and stamps. So, on y go! Let's get stamping.
